nocton: "I wish it would transfer to the main market. That would be substantial icing on the cake." No, I would not like that and it probably would not change the share price. IGR, like several other large cos on AIM e.g. Dart Group, is popular with private investors who wish to minimise IHT and similarly with those investment firms, like Octopus, who invest in AIM cos for clients for the same reason. I have a large AIM portfolio and it is not so easy to find good growth shares. IGR, Dart and Churchill China are three that fit the bill. If IGR were to leave AIM then I would need to sell it and find another AIM share to replace it.
rivaldo: Here's the IC's Buy tip.... "IG Design (IGR) is betting on the US. More than a year after its acquisition of Impact Innovations, which doubled the size of its business in the country, the group has once again inked a deal to build out its presence in North America, doubling it once again. The group will buy CSS industries for $9.40 (£7.20) per share, representing an enterprise value of roughly £89.7m. The deal will “substantially” increase IG’s manufacturing and distribution capabilities, as well as strengthening its position in the gift packaging market. To fund the deal, the group completed a £120m accelerated bookbuild. IC View Investors welcomed news of the deal, sending shares in IG up 8 per cent following the announcement. Management had flagged it was looking at US acquisition opportunities, and more may be forthcoming. The group’s last US acquisition was a key part of our buy case for the shares, and a second deal strengthens our conviction. Buy at 742p."

hawaly: "MIDAS SHARE TIPS UPDATE: IG Design, which comes into its own at this time of year, is a Christmas cracker!" IG Design comes into its own at this time of year. The company makes millions of festive items, including eco-Christmas crackers, wrapping paper, tags, bows and party goodies. It also sells gift products, such as photo frames, calendars and corporate-sponsored items, including Nutella plates. Chief executive Paul Fineman admits Christmas is important to IG, but sales outside the festive season also contribute to the bottom line. The firm makes a huge range of children's stationery, shopping bags for retail chains, bin liners and recycling bags. The blend of goodies is large, but the formula is working. Half-year results, released on Thursday, showed core profits up 14 per cent to £22 million and a 20 per cent increase in the interim dividend to 3p. Brokers expect that pace to continue in the full year to March, with profits up 15 per cent to £35 million and a final dividend of 9.9p, compared to 8.5p the previous year. The figures are noteworthy as IG has faced challenges in recent months. The firm makes most of its money in America so has had to cope with the US trade war with China, by changing suppliers and increasing local production. Brexit uncertainty also disrupted sales but the company is fighting back, particularly in the speciality bags sector. Midas verdict: Midas recommended IG Design in the summer of 2016, when the shares were £2.19. They have tripled since then to £6.60, and prospects seem bright. Cautious investors may choose to sell some shares and use the money to brighten up their own festive season. But they should keep some stock, as the business still has plenty of potential. https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/investing/article-7741535/MIDAS-SHARE-TIPS-UPDATE-IG-Design-Christmas-cracker.html
time 2 retire: "Buy" tip from yesterdays Investors Chronicle.... IG Design’s (IGR) latest trading statement this morning reassures that the group is on track for full-year market expectations - which currently predict an adjusted EPS of 31.6p, up from 28.3p last year, according to Bloomberg. The order book is strong going into the second half and leverage is expected to fall to around 1.1 times by the full year. Buy.
rivaldo: Nice coverage of Octopus' increase in their stake in IGR: Https://citywire.co.uk/funds-insider/news/four-shares-the-pros-are-buying-and-selling/a1225968?ref=citywire-money-latest-news-list#i=4 "IG Design (IGG) Who’s trading? Citywire AA-rated Richard Power The trade: Octopus’ head of micro-caps upped his stake in greeting card and gift wrap maker IG Design Group from 8.1% of the shares to 9.2%. How have the shares performed? After rocketing 325% over three years to September last year the shares have remained at highs, trading at 610p on Friday. What does the company say? Investors in the company attempted another push on its upward resistance line in mid-April after it reported a 37% revenue boost from US firm Impact Innovations, doubling its North American business to create what it claimed was the world’s biggest retail gift packing business, saying profit would ‘significantly’ beat 2017’s figure. What’s the outlook? The company also last month noted it intended to up the amount of cash it returned to backers. A three-strong universe of analysts rate it a unanimous ‘buy’ on a median price target of 720p, although this sits in the middle of a very broad spread between 640p and 800p."

Https://citywire.co.uk/funds-insider/news/the-expert-view-vodafone-experian-and-bandm/a1175440?ref=citywire-money-latest-news-list#i=5 "The Share Centre adds IG Design to ‘buy’ list The Share Centre has added IG Design (IGR) to its ‘buy’ list as the celebration stationery distributor is set for further growth. Analyst Ian Forrest added IG Design to his ‘buy’ list as ‘the company looks set for further growth and has increased its production capacity with a new printing press in the Netherlands’. ‘A strong balance sheet and progressive dividend policy are further attractions for investors,’ he said. ‘We recommend the shares as a "buy" for higher risk investors seeking growth due to the company’s good track record of expansion, broad reach across many countries with further potential thanks to its wide range of products and recent US acquisition.’"
