21/1/2021 22:14 | I don’t suppose the funds and institutions that own IG will stop the purchase and fire the CEO? apad | apad
21/1/2021 21:50 | For the financial year to 31 December 2020, tastytrade delivered revenue of $116.2 million11 (up 44% year-over-year; 31 December 2019: $81.0 million), Adjusted EBITDA of $54.1 million12 (up 43% year-over-year; 31 December 2019: $37.8 million) and profit before tax of $49.0 million (up 5% year-over-year; 31 December 2019: $46.5 million), with growth in active accounts of 85%13 over the same period, reflecting both structural sector growth and tastytrade’s continued disruption of the US retail market. tastytrade’s gross assets were $200.5 million14 as at 31 December 2020, with a regulatory capital requirement of c. $0.5 million reflecting its agency-only brokerage model. hxxps://www.finextra | jaz123
21/1/2021 21:19 | Tom Sosnoff (born March 6, 1957) is an entrepreneur, options trader, co-founder of Thinkorswim[1] and tastytrade, and founder of Dough, Inc. He was Senior Vice President of Trading and Strategic Initiatives at TD Ameritrade.[2][3][4] Google Tom Sosnoff and tastytrade. It's horrific. apad | apad
21/1/2021 19:27 | apad: Cheers for your input, it's great reading your informative honest posts I always look out for them and this MB is lucky to have you. | chess123
21/1/2021 19:22 | I'm rubbish at predicting share prices, Chess123, except with hindsight. 😊 ex div in a week. I shall be top-slicing at some point. I've lost confidence in the CEO. Her CV is on their website and I was not impressed when she was appointed. I'm sure she is having a great time, but she aint working for me. apad | apad

21/1/2021 19:06 | FT clip. "IG is acquiring one of the fastest-growing retail investor businesses in the US futures and options market, while Tastytrade will be able to use IG’s global infrastructure to expand its services internationally. US options trading volumes have grown significantly and hit record levels last year, according to Jefferies, which advised on the deal. That was in part because of rising numbers of retail investors keen to bet on the volatility in the market. Shares in IG, which is the largest listed spread-betting group in the UK and has a small retail investor business in the US, dropped almost 10 per cent, with analysts at Canaccord Genuity saying the deal price was “very punchy”. “Investors can also be forgiven for wondering if history is about to repeat itself,” they added. “IGG acquired FXOnline years ago for a full price, only for increased regulation to severely damage profitability. The question of increased regulation in the US retail futures and options market will therefore be at the forefront of investors minds.”" apad | apad
21/1/2021 18:37 | Still a holder, but I agree I wish they'd kept it nice and lean please. Organic growth is best | growthpotential
21/1/2021 17:21 | I agree Apad. I would have liked a special dividend rather than splashing our cash on the ridiculously named acquisition. | scorpio51
21/1/2021 17:04 | Not a good comparison on its own, adeg. Have to do revenue/user then profitability/user then user attrition to complete the picture. apad | apad
21/1/2021 16:47 | Have they over paid? IGG £3 Billion market cap, 238k active users, £12,810 per user. Tasty $1 Billion purchase, 105k active users, $9,524/£7,002 per user. | adeg
21/1/2021 16:31 | The Bod should have looked at what happened to Tp icap share price when they bought liquidnet, the markets obviously dislike this acquisition. | chess123
21/1/2021 16:16 | I am concerned by the IG acquisition. Not only because it was a conservative company but that was one reason why my portfolio is with IG. June Felix was appointed as Chief Executive Officer on 30 October 2018, having previously served as a non-executive director of the Company since 5 September 2015. She is a chemical engineer from Pittsburgh who has knocked about the payments industry for years. High profile Asian woman worked in Hong Kong. Don't like it. Looks like she is returning to her roots and looking for high profile activities. Not satisfied with organically growing a boring UK company organically. apad | apad
21/1/2021 16:05 | I agree with the comments made by discodave and apd. Tastytrade? I assume that a name like that reflects the professionalism of their client base, or otherwise? Full price at the top of a bull market? Are these Robinhood types? Increased regulation on leveraged products happening all around the world and more so now under Biden? I must admit a recent Telegraph article about increased regulation had prompted me to review my holding and I sold yesterday at £9.00 (well 8.99 something)so I have not looked at the deal in detail so I could be talking a load of cobblers. No holding but a smaller holding in PLUS has been retained for now. | tiswas

21/1/2021 15:27 | This will bounce, earnings are too strong, yes paid slightly too much but it's not a disaster. Lets see where we are in a week or two. Added a few. | its the oxman
21/1/2021 15:27 | The H1 results were great, so obviously the Tasty deal not to Tasty for investors, it's times like this i wish the BOD would buy in show there confidence in this Deal, hopefully the sell off won't continue into Friday .. | chess123

21/1/2021 14:48 | Hopefully the virus will be gone and we are back normal trading levels .. invested in brickability . Hopefully the house market stays strong. ,? | jonnyupite1
21/1/2021 14:45 | Sold out . Too concerned by management decisions in the future now . Surely better ways to enter us . Overpaying and not enough information i could find how it would be beneficial going forward. | jonnyupite1
21/1/2021 14:44 | I suspect that they are paying too much; history of UK companies buying in USA does not bode well. ATB, W | wasteof
21/1/2021 14:41 | Not in at the moment and won’t be until the air clears so to speak. | luderitz
