Also they have had this level of debt before if you look at final results ending March 2016 they had reduced net debt from 95m to 73m and have managed to put themselves in net cash of 5m most recent results.So it's not like they have been irresponsible and put themselves in debt they can't handle.

I'm not certain but maybe way to get cash out instead of reducing their shares. Maybe they think the price will perform well in the future. Only a thought, if there was something up I would have thought he would be liquidating some of his large position not paying dividend instead? I would be more worried if he had small stake in business.

explain why they would borrow £150m then pay £100m as a dividend. It doesnt make sense to me. It stinks if you think about it.

Think about what has happened recently

The company raises £150m, the company pays out £100m in dividends.
Look who owns 82% of the company? They just got an £82m dividend.

Its not rocket science.

L2 shows the order book for buys and sells .

Thus , amongst other things , you can see resistance and support.

Actually, 750 shares on L2 is the minimum size that you should be able to deal in. If you check a quote through your broker you should be able to deal in more than that at better prices.
But you are correct about the current price varying when the mid doesnt.

no problem, 750 is the total size of the orders, so 750 shares available to buy at 300 p for example, though trading is within the spread, so last buy went through at 297p.
so what gets quoted as the current price is often the last traded price and even though the bid and offer prices haven't moved, the share price appears to move by around the spread percentage.

i've probably put that really awkwardly!

What does this mean?

Price seemed to spike up on Hargreaves L for 20 minutes or so to an 8% gain for the day, but has now dropped again to minus 1.27%
