tole: on six continents, Guernsey-based Ienergizer (LSE: IBPO) provides outsourcing services to companies in fields including banking, healthcare and gaming. This diversification should make earnings - and therefore dividends - pretty secure. Analysts have the stock returning 15p in the current financial year. That gives a juicy yield of 5%. Other things I like about IBPO include the high returns on capital and reasonable valuation (17 times earnings). The fact that founder Annil Aggarwal holds a massive amount of shares should also ensure that his interests are aligned with those of retail investors like me.As with many AIM stocks however, IBPO could prove to be a volatile holding. The 'free float' - the amount of stock available to trade on the market - is very small at just 17%. This could mean it takes only a few buys or sells to make the share price motor or sink respectively.
tole: Ieneegizer flies a lot under the radar so good to see a bit of new exposure with it being picked in the new top 10. (Contrary to name dog - which usually has a different meaning when it comes to some stock picks) four years I have been investing in the Dogs of AIM portfolio, which comprises 10 shares chosen based on the rules of the Dogs of the Dow trading strategy. Popularised by money manager Michael O'Higgins in his 1992 book Beating the Dow, investors put equal amounts of money into 10 individual companies. Known as "dogs", the companies are the constituents of the blue-chip-focused Dow Jones Industrial Average Index with the highest historic dividend yields.New entries this year include technology-services company Ienergizer (IBPO), property investor Urban Logistics REIT (SHED), miners Central Asia Metals (CAML) and Pan African Resources (PAF), professional-services firm FRP Advisory Group (FRP) and financier Numis Corporation (NUM).
alotto: Hi Tizio yes it looks cheap. Growth stocks have PE twice as high or above. What's your thoughts on that? Why investors aren't diving in?
indigocarmine: When you say other shareholders, I assume you principally mean private investors. In reality how much say do private investors really ever have in company matters. Irrespective of whether the majority investor is the CEO or a bunch of institutions, they'll mostly do whatever suits them without worrying too much about the opinions of the PI rabble. The sum total of your power is to sell up.
