Spangle, Interesting posts there chap especially the blog post. Suggesting the effectiveness of waterflood on the clearwater wells, something the company has hinted at too. Kaos, Yes the wells are cheap, the multi well campaign from Nov-Jan will cost just $7m to I3E for around 7 more of these multi-lateral wells. To have eight legs covering a large area of the reservoir would be low impact as its all done from just one surface location (per well obviously). Best way to get this low API oil out. The waterflood is interesting too as if they use surfactant it could have a dramatic increase on the recovery of the heavy oil. multilateral method probably also cheap(er) and eco friendly as it does not require additional flow stimulation just great the info you are providing for my education and as it is simple fluid mechanics per se - also low operational down time probably - nothing much can go wrong - just natural flow through the pipes location location location (a good horse - which even an ape riding it could win the race with)

Good quality rock, denser oil (lower gas content) boereport.com/2019/11/13/the-marten-hills-clearwater-oil-play-robust-economics/ From this link, the Marten Hills Clearwater wells have an IRR over 175%, and a payback of less than a year... at $55/bbl WTI

Spangle - thnx - a cherry on a cake as usual multilateral drilling when applied must the fluids/gasses be of more or less of the same quality in order to avoid turbulence, cavity, unstable flows, pressure "pockets" etc??? also providing for equal drain of all the legs and branches more or less - so no vacuum in some drained pipes sucking fluids back into the sands - (multilateral probably works best for high viscosity ?)

Figure 2 in this blog gives some idea of expected rate, as well as examples of how the 8 laterals are drilled hTTps://www.gljpc.com/blog/creativity-clearwater If we get 2 bbl/100m/well, that should be ca. 250 bbl/day for each of the wells.

hTTps://www.investegate.co.uk/i3-energy-plc--i3e-/rns/operational-update/202107150837083496F/ Good to have those laterals secured Edit, Marten Hills Clearwater is a relatively new play, first wells only drilled in 2017 For more information on growth of this area, visit this site (for some reason if I post as a link, ADVFN removes it) boereport.com/2019/09/25/the-marten-hills-clearwater-oil-play-from-open-land-to-high-demand/

Good news both clearwater wells successfully completed on time with good porosity etc. Just 5 days with the workover rig and we should be seeing production from those before the end of the month. Well done to them and their jv partners. hopefully many more to come! Regards, Ed.
