WTI and Brent crude futures both declined over fears of slowing Chinese growth. China's Caixin manufacturing PMI fell to 50.3 - barely above the expansionary 50 threshold - to its lowest level since April 2020. Meanwhile, Covid cases in China have now spread to eight different provinces and there are fears that strict lockdowns could crimp growth at the world's largest crude importer."At present, soft lockdowns have been implemented in China, but if the situation worsens, this could prompt further restrictions that could exacerbate the slowdown in economic activity, and thus reduced oil consumption

Dont be nasty now, remember your IP address, then identity can be traced keyboard warrior. The RNS could still fall today, the contract hold up was on the drilling side, but the plan is to drill a couple of wells in Serenity, then move onto new wells on the Minos High structure and the Liberator West area in Block 13/23c, the debate was who was drilling them and when, probable drill program will now be 3RD Quarter 22....

WH Ireland view this morning
i3 Energy’s growth is relentless and the pace of its operational progress is truly exceptional relative to peers listed on AIM and peers operating in Canada. The success of its drilling operations to date is highly significant given the company’s extensive drilling inventory.

The company had previously indicated that it expects to achieve next-twelve-month “net operating income” (revenues less opex, less royalties, less tax) of circa $US75m. We anticipate that the company will clearly beat that estimate because i) i3 Energy’s estimate is based on the oil & gas futures curves, which are exhibiting backwardation – we believe this is an anomaly related to structural dynamics in the futures market vs. an indication of where commodity prices are heading and ii) because the company’s net operating income estimate is premised only on announced drilling/acquisitions/workovers. The newly announced Elmworth wells are additive to the company’s $US75m net operating income estimate.

Importantly, the company’s drilling is oil weighted and self-funded with rapid paybacks (less than one year in general based on our estimates and commodity price assumptions excluding initial farm-in related additional capex costs).

We anticipate providing the market with our forward-looking projections in due course, which we expect will be materially higher than the company’s estimates

It's looking like a reasonably solid floor roundabouts here. On that basis have doubled up.

Hi Spangle,

No I don't think so. Assuming they're around the same depth as the clearwater wells, those wells took about 14 days to drill. So we could be looking at around 12th of August if all things are equal. So would you call that early Q3 or mid Q3. To get them drilled and tied in for early Q3 looks ambitious, certainly mid Q3 I would expect.

Regards,
Ed.

Ref Wapiti Emsworth

"Well 09-17-071-10W6 in i3's Elmworth Wapiti acreage was spud on 27 July 2021. The Company will be drilling two wells with a partner at a net cost of USD 2.1mm. Operations are planned to conclude in early Q3 2021"

Given that we're 1/3 of the way through Q3, and $2.1MM represents quite a few days of drilling, does anyone else think that they meant early Q4?
