22/3/2016 07:20 | Current Trading and Outlook Hydrogen's plan for 2016 is to remain focused on robust, profitable, business. Having invested and re-focused the business during 2015 we are beginning to see growth in our international contractor numbers which should provide a sustainable base for all of our international offices to be profitable in 2016. Hydrogen has been through a difficult period of restructuring and cost reductions. The Group is now firmly focused on its core opportunities. The changes implemented are intended to ensure that the Board delivers on its key objectives of improving profitability, increasing cash generation and growing the Group's revenue. 17/3/2016 09:06 | Just had a crazy, small, punt on HYDG(27.3p) with some rolled up dividend cash from one of my accounts. Solely based on the: I hope that all the bad news is in the price, contrarian punt type approach. Even the smallest flicker of better than bad news might move this one in the right direction, even if you would need a microscope to find that currently. Ah well, keeps one alive :-) | cwa1
26/2/2016 19:39 | I see that Church House Investments have bought 1,000,000 shares. The RNS doesn't say whether they have bought these on behalf of clients or for one of their funds. They do have a deep value fund and HYDG looks like it would meet the criteria for this fund. hxxp://www.ch-invest Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
24/12/2015 08:23 | Some news today. I must admit I get very nervous when I see one of my stocks release news on Christmas Eve as it's a pretty popular time to release dreadful news when hardly anyone is watching but luckily it's not bad news. After this week's trading and the recent falls in the price I was also worried. It's a contract extension. | arthur_lame_stocks
12/7/2015 16:59 | Hydrogen did do a lot of business in oil and gas and this area has fallen off a cliff already so hopefully won't get a lot worse, yet the other part of their business seems to be doing quite well. Lot's of NCAV backing up the balance sheet and I don't see any reason why there should be substantial write offs here although I could be wrong. I only have a modest investment here, I am a bit put off taking a larger one by the many negative comments from their staff/ex staff over on Glassdoor although this is a cut throat business so maybe understandable. But if things continue as they are without major exceptionals going forward then I make these on a p/e of 7 or so with a yield of 7.5% and surely it is better to invest in a business when they are cheap and their markets are at a cyclical low than when they are dear and their markets are at a cyclical high. They're my reasons for having a punt, I don't see the price getting a lot worse but then I could be wrong of course, I thought SNCL was near its lows at 50p but luckily I avoided investing there. Cheers Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
02/7/2015 15:44 | Well I've finally bought a few of these. I think they're looking interesting and cheap if trading has stabilised, I notice a small cap fund has just taken a 3% stake I them. Let's just hope that dividend is maintained (and from profit). All the best Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
21/5/2015 08:25 | Yes, I for one agree that it may be in "interesting" territory now. Of course a lot probably depends on the next set of results to see if the ship has been turned around/is moving forward, that they can maintain dividends, etc. FWIW I've taken a modest punt here and wish all holders good fortune. | cwa1
20/5/2015 18:52 | I think these have fallen too far and are now looking cheap. Presumably they have already lost the profit from oil & gas so this shouldn't get a lot worse, the made £2.4m pre exceptionals are valued at about NTAV and pay a >7% yield which they seem to think they can maintain. Anybody else have an opinion? | arthur_lame_stocks

24/7/2014 09:55 | Welcome to this new thread on HYDG. My reasons for starting it are explained above in the introduction. Anyone have any views they would like to add? Steve | gostevie63
24/7/2014 09:53 | It's been over six months since anybody posted anything here about this company, so I thought I'd start a new thread, having just bought a few this morning. For anybody who has stumbled across this post unfamiliar with the company, here is a link to their website: They describe themselves thus: "We are Hydrogen, a global specialist recruitment business, placing exceptional, hard to find candidates in over 70 countries. Our joined up practices combine international reach with local expertise and specialist knowledge." Following a dip yesterday after this trading update... ...I believe they now look like a good value/recovery play at around 77p, currently yielding about 6%. Would anybody care to post an opposing view for discussion? Steve | gostevie63

23/1/2014 00:20 | 2012 was the first complete year of trading under the group's new reorganised structure and we take some comfort from the progress achieved during that period. As illustrated in Exhibit 11, revenue increased substantially, rising by 40% to £43.0m (£30.7m) and encouragingly, EBITDA for the year as a whole moved from a breakeven position of £69,000 in 2011 to a profit of £741,000. Earnings, after a tax credit of £101,000 were £575,000 or 4.26p per share and on a zero tax charge, were £474,000 or 3.51p per share. The group has tax losses available to offset against UK generated profits that should result in a zero effective rate in 2013 and 2014. | glennborthwick

11/3/2013 17:39 | Today's Dec 2012 results statement are a laugh- the Group talks about the "growing business" yet Pre-tax Profits fell nearly 15% to £3.2! Funny how the Group talks about revenue growth, but no mention of the lower Pre-tax Profit figure!! You will have to look much further down the page to see the crucial numbers. | the anteater
26/7/2012 09:02 | In case anyone was wondering, these have been tipped this morning by the Midas(Mail on Sunday's tipping team) in their extra midweek mail out, small snippet only to avoid copyright problems:- The macro-environment is harsh but Hydrogen has proved it can grow in spite of the headwinds. It has many highly-respected clients too, including oil giant, Shell, mining group Rio Tinto, German conglomerate Siemens, international law firm, Clifford Chance, John Lewis and Goldman Sachs. Midas verdict: Hydrogen shares are 90p, at which price they are far cheaper than other recruiters, even though many of them are struggling. This is an anomaly. Hydrogen deserves to move higher and analysts believe the shares have real potential. Buy. | cwa1
