The most interesting thing about that CA update is the projection showing they will have a positive balance of $40 million (always looks better in $$) after paying off the CVBs. CVBs are trading roughly at par, btw, with no discount for default. They can probably hedge their production now but likely won't, with Oil Supply still tight. So the shorter's last hope is that the ESP fails. Bless.

CA projects Lancaster to end 2024 and beyond, and maps out a drill into Lincoln. That implies a continuation of AokaMizu is a formality, and if they install an ESP at Lincoln they would presumably move AM there? Or hook a line to Lincoln?

(kooba, where is that update, btw, I don't see an RNS on CA investegate page since 19/10)

Thought this of interest update position on MCINOCOT rules. My read is that if there is an ongoing business the losses can be transferable to a like business..might be wrong but trying to evidence and promote discussion rather than making flippant ill informed guesses put forward as facts.Constructive comment really appreciated on this complex subject.https://cwenergy.co.uk/anti-avoidance-rules-an-update/

NGMS it is not as simple as that.

RFTL's can be offset against future NON-RF tax profits. There are various Group relief mechanisms in place and depends on the nature of the business acquiring the assets and if indeed they acquire the entire share capital of HUR etc

This is why they are conducting a review. My instincts are it will prove to be an extremely valuable asset......those B/Hs were not stupid.

“The Fund also notes the potential for shareholders to benefit from Hurricane's taxation position. At 31 December 2020, Hurricane had ring-fenced trading losses of $468.7 million and supplementary charge losses and investment allowances of $707.8 million. In addition, capital allowance pools of $383.5 million were available to be used against ring-fenced trading profits. The Fund has asked Hurricane to assess the financial implications of these tax losses and allowances in the event of a corporate transaction. The Fund believes that the quantum may be very substantial.”

Imagine what market capitalisation Tax Credits alone give the now clearly way undervalued Hurricane Energy here with ~$86 Brent already in place, finally good times ahead for HUR shareholders.

Time to break my silence already. The tax losses have been covered before. They are not transferrable from the acreage BUT can be used if other works are carried out resulting in further production from the acreage.

So someone couldn't buy HUR then transfer Tax losses to say a producing asset in the CNS as an example.

Think the tax loss point is the most interesting ...the company as it stands might be worth multiples of its current valuation put on its operations and licences to a producer making hay in the current oil price environment who can offset profits against the losses. I don't have the skill set to know if that is easily achieved but the losses are there and there is full continuity in the business. Any experts?

Some interesting reading in that rns. Let's hope that HUR do follow CA's lead and explore their portfolio and not just sit back waiting for the inevitable......get going HUR find more oil, sign a new FSPO contract, see a 60p share price again.

Ngms27...so accepting your last post of CA not being around come Nov is BS , you now decide you are the one to pontificate on how such a fund might be wound up over an extended period. The company has clearly stated that they are seeking strategic buyers for their strategic holdings and are highly motivated in encouraging the company's they hold to maximise their performance and values in the near term. Just think before you post this inconsistent agenda fuelled nonsense..you are just looking thick now.

ngms is right CA have been buying this month an apparently this week even (>27% not RNS'd yet so still buying even today probably)... Just so they can start selling form 1st of November (or whenever it is).

These financial investment companies so clever.

Similarly, they went to high court for no reason because the company was doomed. Just out of childish spite.

Keep your predictions coming Walter . So far every single one of them has been wrong. On that basis happy for you to continue spouting your sad little missives. I guess you know more than management or CRS . I wish I was as clever as you ......

You all miss the point. Crystal Ambers influence will wane and they will be selling down there holding over the next 13 months so over 2% of Hur per month. Anyone who follows PANR will know what effect such background selling will have.

..the definition of a troll, then.

Just filter, ffs (and for the sake of the rest of us on this bb).

By engaging, you're just encouraging it further.
