tournesol: Here is what I said -

'Please stick to what you know about - helicopters will not be offloading the Ever Given.

Each 40ft container could weigh up to 40 tonnes ... name one helicopter that can lift that!!

Barges and floating cranes are the only way out if she is that hard aground.'

I fail to see what is offensive in that.

Frank. Either you are being disingenuous or you are tone deaf (could be both of course). Louis Armstrong was famously asked:- "Mr Armstrong, could you please explain to me, what is Jazz?"He replied:- "Lady, if you got to ask, ain't no use me trying to explain ""l

I'm sorry if my 'tone' upset you - please point out what I said that was so offensive to you and I will gladly apologise.

There is also an obvious question....if HUR about to sink into the abyss, why aren't shorts increasing? Why are they low and decreasing?

Tournesol. Some reasonable points. However, rising Brent, sandstone conventional play etc. Wait for the CPR

Bond pricesFri 08:07Apologies if reported before but bond prices which had shot up to 50.75, then slight fallen to 49.75, went up yesterday to 50.25. Small changes admittedly but it will be interesting to see what happens to Shorts and Bond yields in the next few days.https://www.boerse-frankfurt.de/bond/xs1641462277-hurricane-energy-plc-7-5-17-22

TGG 'Stuck where it is, the "easiest" way to unload it could well be via a couple of Chinooks or some such....or get a gurt big floating crane on site....... not quick!'

Please stick to what you know about - helicopters will not be offloading the Ever Given.

....Chinooks can handle about 10 a ton load apparently, so floating crane it is... unless the dredges can work their magic.

Your tone, as ever, leaves a lot to be desired.

I know the Suez Canal intimately and I think you will see a couple of suction dredgers being deployed

Pantheon Resources (PANR) about to rocket:

Talitha #A well on the Alaskan North Slope has encountered five significant oil bearing zones plus an unexpected additional prospective zone.

"The results to date and the potential economic value as discussed earlier i.e., 350-500 million barrels of recoverable oil at an estimated NPV10 of over $10/bbl (at today's oil price) represents a huge potentially multi billion dollar prize that we can test over coming weeks."

PS

There are special circumstances at Hur, as I'm sure you know. Namely, their reserves are currently scheduled to run out next year. Against that background they are due to release a revised/updated CPR in the near future which will undoubtedly trigger a revision in their current reserves/resources figure. They have previous form in slashing reserves/resources and do not appear to have taken any initiatives to enable additional R&Rs to be booked, so it looks to me as if there is a possibility of a downgrade without a counterbalancing possibility of an upgrade - so a possible deterioration. If that occurs it would signal that the end date for reserve exhaustion would be brought forward.

As far as future potential goes, going after that that would obviously require further exploration drilling followed by appraisal drilling, followed by development work to bring additional oil reserves online. The time available for all that to happen is extremely short. To me it does not look feasible that new reserves could be found, appraised and brought into production before the existing reserves are finished. That makes for a difficult situation wrt the renewal of the Aoka Mizu lease this summer and the retention of the offshore team during the unavoidable hiatus in production.

For these reasons, it seems to me that there is a serious question over Hur remaining a going concern beyond the end of next year.

In this circumstance it is entirely understandable that valuation of the co is not exuberant. What surprises me however, is that it remains as high as it does. I expect downward pressure on the share price to continue.

Back2basics

You referred to: ..."HUR’s massive current undervaluation as compared to it’s peers is extremely evident today"….

E&P's are generally valued on the basis of (current reserves/resources) + (future potential x chance of success).

a) On that basis please explain what makes you say they are undervalued

b) If you consider that they should be valued on a different basis, please say what that is and why it is more appropriate than the industry norm.

Going from 11.2 to 11.8%, an increase of 0.6%, means they've bought 12 million more shares.....

As the share price of HUR didn't move much from end Jan to end Feb, presumably a few of their other investments had a bad start to the year, meaning HUR's weighting in their folio grew?

(edit) Thinking about it, not sure why they've jacked up the value of HUR per share
...share buybacks don't explain it. Ask CRS!

That is the value of the holding per Crystal Amber share I believe.

From Crystal Amber Jan 2021 NAV Statement:

Pence per share / Percentage of investee equity held

Hurricane Energy plc 6.7 / 11.2%

From Crystal Amber Feb 2021 NAV Statement:

Pence per share / Percentage of investee equity held

Hurricane Energy plc 10.2 / 11.8%

So I see they bought another 120m shares in Feb but can anyone explain why the value has gone up to 10.7p?

A recovery in bond prices (which has clearly been happening here in recent weeks) is usually a prelude to a rising SP, additionally, rapid institutional Short closures here is another; HUR’s massive current undervaluation as compared to it’s peers is extremely evident today, and expected company updates here, particularly CPR, along with Production/Increasing net-cash resulting from higher Brent prices will all likely very much positively remedy this situation in upcoming days/weeks ahead, DYOR, and GLA.
