19/4/2018 19:15 | I would love Aidan Heavey as our new chairman, perfect fit and would give a real boost to the share price as he’s well liked in the City. Thought he was leaving Tullow due to retirement though so he wouldn’t want another role? | 0rient
19/4/2018 18:54 | IC were cautious suggesting that Major institutional funds, and any potential acquirers, appear content to watch from the sidelines But despite the hiatus and terms when the funds were being raised surely a lot of capital was supporting the firm`s future. Does anyone know who the CB holders are and whether Ics assertions are correct re share ownership? | arcadian
19/4/2018 18:17 | This feels lie IAE all over again - tracking vessels from one end of the globe to t'other! You just know that Hurricane's gonna come good. It's almost a fait accompli although my position is tiny compared to many on here. The wife's always complaining about my 'tiny position' | mirabeau
19/4/2018 18:11 | I’ll look that up later. I’ve been a holder of Tullow for some 20 years as I omitted to sell when they reached £15. I was waiting for the takeover to occur and thus didn’t sell on the way down either! Anyway he brought them up from nothing so I’m sure he could give wise counsel to Dr T. He leaves Tullow in July so the timing is perfect. | chessman2
19/4/2018 17:59 | Chess , Aidens Wikipedia isn’t the greatest if not shallowest resumes of sorts , why this particular gentleman ? | gibso6767
19/4/2018 17:32 | The share price is performing well and I expect it to continue slowly drifting northwards not just to reflect the increasing oil price but also to take into account our new chairman who will surely be with us within the next two or three months. Having reviewed most recent articles about Tullow and their new chairwoman to replace Aidan Heavey, I am more convinced than ever that Aidan will be our new man. If so, he will join us in July shortly after the AGM. He ticks all the boxes we could ask for!! | chessman2
19/4/2018 17:21 | Have the timing God's looked at HUR, smiled and cast favour in our direction? I'm referring to an article I read in today's Times titled: 'Supply squeeze pushes oil price to 3.5 year high' The article states that: 1/ The oil market has tightened more than expected and that Saudi Arabia has signalled that it wishes to see prices rise to $80 or $100 per barrel. 2/ There has been a big fall in American stockpiles. 3/ Overall stocks of crude have fallen by 1.1 Million barrels bringing inventories towards levels not seen since 2014. 4/ OPEC production cuts in place since January 2017 have succeeded in reducing the global supply of oil and tightening the market. 5/ Quotes a Global Market Energy fund manager saying: 'The oil market was at a turning point because the industry had been starved of investment in new projects in recent years by low prices'. 6/ The same Fund Manager added: 'Oil prices have the potential to rise another 15% over the remainder of 2018 as the market faces up to under supply and low starage 'double hit' this was largely due to the collapse in the approval of new oil projects since 2014. 7/ The rally in the PoO was amplified by Saudi comments that they would be happy to see prices rise from $80 - $100 and that Saudi Arabia had no plans to change course on a production cutting deal struck in 2016. If all the above points don't enthuse HUR holders that our FOIL timing couldn't be much better placed then I don't know what will. BH | bloodhound
