21/9/2017 11:14 | one can patent an idea, a tech improvement, one can protect TM - many different levels. I would suggest to read steve Jobs patent protection about touch screen. Intuition, idea, coming from his caligraphic interests. and later comes tech patents enabling the idea . and then there is Apple TM protection etc. Each step worth billions. Now - Will HUR do anything about it??? Probably not. But as a person who is awaken I say they should - for the benefit of the shareholders. only at the part which belongs to the shareholders to be fair. | kaos3
21/9/2017 11:01 | Malcy re-iterates his positive view. Long term he thinks 100p plus maybe conservative | cyan
21/9/2017 10:58 | Can you patent an 'intuition' that paid off. Anyone anywhere, can, if the have the appropriate licences drill these sort of areas. To patent, it has to be materially something different to whats gone before - apart from this particular site being in the WoS. It isn't. | fireplace22
21/9/2017 10:42 | I think there is a grey zone by intention - who Will empower the IP rights - dr T as a CEO for the Co against dr T as an employee? and employee dr T brought most of the knowledge before Co came into existance. But then this knowledge was upgraded (or not) by the Co s environment. | kaos3
21/9/2017 10:39 | if ??? the Co owns the intelectual property - BIG oil would be interested to buy a Co not a field ??? It is much more then just oil found imho it is oil found "xeroxed" or on the power of .... but if one owns - knows the tech | kaos3
21/9/2017 10:26 | Upcoming information from the company should also be good, expect EPS progression and a CPR on Halifax, Lincoln and Warwick which will move the needle significantly in the right direction. The shares have suffered from indigestion post the raise but those capable of taking anything like a long term view at should 'make out like bandits' as they say in most reputable saloons. I still think that the final number will be as much as 2bn barrels of oil and my target price of 100p + may eventually look conservative, the words pay your money and takes your choice come to mind... | nw99
21/9/2017 10:24 | If you are employed by a company then the company owns the intellectual rights to anything you invent/develop within their sphere of operation. Unless a get out clause is negotiated. IMO | fireplace22
21/9/2017 10:15 | yes - new licence is my thought too. like patent process - inventing - filing - pending - confirmed - exploring each phase to be explored because of knowledge advantage. one knows what is coming the others do not. so ones duty is to take advantage of his hard earned knowledge (new licence) which makes me ask - who owns intelectual property being developed at HUR - HUR od dr. T. we know who the inventor is but who owns the invention? | kaos3
21/9/2017 09:31 | How do you get motivated over something one does not own? | zztop
21/9/2017 09:02 | I suspect the intention may be simply to add looky-likey acreage ahead of the concept being proved up. If they actually do a farm-out this time, then there will be ample cash for appraisals, where there are quite a few candidates. Warwick certainly needs one to try to establish the belief that Lincoln and Warwick are a single monster field, while the areal extent of Halifax needs to be better established. And then there's the enigma of Whirlwind which could be substantial but as yet the company isn't even sure what it contains, oil or gas/condensate. Errm, yes rackers, they are. I don't lose any sleep over this one! | hiddendepths
21/9/2017 09:01 | peeps still invested in this down trending POS ? | rackers1
21/9/2017 08:54 | LOL...You are funny HD. Which bit of my post is `opinionated piffle`? Though I guess you`d know as you are the master of it- You appear to be suggesting first oil by end of next year!!! You couldn`t make it up...Though you continue to do so... Rampety ramp....LOL | nicebut
21/9/2017 08:48 | "other exploration activity" - Stobie trying to find his wallet to buy some shares? | phowdo
21/9/2017 08:48 | Oh God, nicebut is still here spouting opinionated piffle. :( | hiddendepths
21/9/2017 08:37 | 'other exploration activity' maybe this is the gist of the discussions wrt a farm in? | fireplace22
21/9/2017 08:28 | sloppg - yes, I thought there was enough left over for another couple of wells. It is slightly mysterious that they talk of "other exploration activity" without specifying any potential wells in the next year. Stifel are certainly well-regarded. I just don't like how they do what they do. I would suggest they have a callous disregard for shareholders even if they raise cash for companies pretty well. fireplace - I wouldn't rule out first oil from the EPS late next year. If everything goes well without delays they could be up and running before the winter weather sets in. It'll take more than a little bit of luck though! | hiddendepths
21/9/2017 07:48 | 12 months don't get us to first oil and revenue though. | fireplace22
21/9/2017 07:46 | "The Directors have considered sensitivities to the Group's forecasts, including the effect of the work programme for the Lancaster EPS for which the additional capital has been raised. These sensitivities indicate that the Group is fully funded for the Lancaster EPS, other exploration activity (including licence costs) and prospective G&A costs for at least the next twelve months based on the Group's cash flow forecasts." What would fall under "the other exploration activity" as it infers cash not just for EPS ? | sloppyg
21/9/2017 07:18 | It makes sense to have a single broker and Nomad. From my experience in the City, more advisors just cause a great deal of confusion, inefficiency and more cost. I don't like how Stifel did the financing but, as the company says, they did raise half a billion pounds in a very difficult market for oil companies so we probably shouldn't grumble too much. If they had farmed out it would have been on relatively unfavourable terms so that would have screwed us anyway. At least any farm-out negotiated now will be MUCH better for HUR shareholders. I note there doesn't seem to be any mention of further appraisal drilling. Just concentrating on the EPS, I guess. That is the proof of the pudding, so fair enough! | hiddendepths
21/9/2017 07:15 | Yes, but how much of the warrants debacle was planned to get the share price to a level acceptable to placees (nobody told CA)? They were never going to fork out at 60p+. | fireplace22
21/9/2017 07:11 | You couldn't make it up stifel collapse the share price so they give them sole broker what a shambles | aughton 3 |
