I know you can't really compare but this is what a great boxer taking punches does, not stop defending, get knocked out and lose to every decent fighter you ever take on afterwards plus a couple of journeymen.

Tyson was the best, though I think Mr T in his heyday may have given him a run for his money.

He also had a couple of white tigers as pets. I have bulldogs, so we're quite different in many ways.

Beeksy, regarding your post about me getting older...lonelier..I take issue with that.
If you can cram 90 years worth of fun into 45 years, then every year after that is a bonus.

If you do f8ck all for 90 years to try and live for ever, then you have to ask yourself... was it worth the f8cking wait?

It's not all doom and gloom.

I'm a member of a yacht club now.
They drink socially, so do I, I just drink a lot more than they do and don't worry too much about the sails and the sea side of things.

Sorry, edit..........he wasn't perhaps the best there ever was, as that depends on the style of the boxer.

I think Tyson was the most undefeatable heavyweight there ever was, though with the aid of the Tardis I would have loved to watch him fight Marciano.

Tyson was overrated and his fights since Buster Douglas put him down show how fragile his confidence and aura really were.

Now, Carl Froch - that's how to come back from a loss or two. And speaking of the STAR thread, did I ever mention that I went to primary school with him for a couple of years. His older brother, Lee, kicked my brother's tooth out in the playground once.

Mary, whoever coined the phrase 'it's not the winning it's the taking part that's important' never had their head kicked in.

I can't imagine one thing in life that is competitive that the people taking part don't try and win.
Taking part is trying to win, losing's losing.

They're taking the p1ss these days at the schools that have none competitive sports days.

100 meter sprint....first person across the finishing line....they didn't win then?
How can the guy who comes in last, honestly, honestly believe that he's a winner?


I reckon the guy who took part in trying to steal from her purse last night took part, and he thought he'd get away with it and be a winner.

Well f8ck that.

It's not the winning that's important?........it is if instead of winning you get your f8cking head kicked in.
