There should be some rub off from Cora, if only the market sees the good grades on HUM S/E exploration and that these can be fed into an existing built and paid for plant!

I don't think they are. They get their figures from someone else. That someone else provides them more generally to secondary information sources like Stockopedia.

FWIW, I reckon HUM are are on the cusp of a change in sentiment in anticipation of good news over the next few months, resulting in a rerate.

I tried to get to the bottom of why Stockopedia have a forecast reduction in profit this year from USD 19m to USD 9m. I could not, however, get anywhere with this. Those automated calculations will drive a lot of the automated sentiment.

Which looks good

Where as my Tradestops is in the red zone with downward trend risk with 40%. Which does not look good.

They both work on previous data.

Oh NOOOOOO! How DARE he do this? Lobon is daring to make negative (but truthful) comments on the LSE bb about this. I guess, Borderterrier1, Tiger By The Tail, Lobon, Lurker 5 (and all the rest) are one and the same? LOL

swanvesta - thanks for the info. It all makes sense. I thought there must be something that justified the Thor valuation.

It just goes to show that a simple comparison of mkt. cap and production doesn't give you the whole picture.

Agreed LLB, should be onwards and upwards from here. I suspect we will have a lot of news flow this month as you've indicated - assay results from the drilling is due this month, the important capex numbers and the financing arrangements for Karoussa, there is the H1 results and then progress on drilling at Dugbe including DFS in Q4.

I think dividend is certainly on the cards in 2023, it would be prudent to use cash flow to part fund Karoussa than to pay a dividend. HUM being a 200k+ producer from 2023 will make some eye watering numbers!! Something like $150-160m in EBITDA on a 200k+ production with gold at $1950 and combined AISC at $1150. That translates to over 1.5 times our current mcap!

Gold on a tear at the moment now over $1830. Simply too undervalued!

Buyers returning here...? the realisation of an undervalued producer sinking in after some very useful CORA comparisons, the next quarter will further demonstrate the new COO is implementing strategy and mine planning control..

News flow due:

SE drilling latest 1164/15000 metres update
KE/SE assay results from the Bamako lab backlog
Next VEIN Dugbe drilling updates
Kouroussa funding package update

A good way to go to rebuild investor confidence after 2 poor quarters, but the Q2 update with Anthony in place at Yanfolila was encouraging, increasing margin/ounces/earnings the share price re-rating catalysts are in place now.., a maiden dividend would really set things off, but unlikely with Kouroussa needing to funded next, the more from FCF and not from debt the better, but we will find out soon enough.., terms of the ML were we have to start inside 12 months from May 2021..

Having trouble picking up any today. I'm only after another 5-10 k but nothing available through IG, not even with partial order fill.

sawnvesta -> You're correct in that the expected AISC for Thor is $700 but that doesn't translate to 2-3 times a HUM ounce. The AISC expectation this year for HUM is $1250-1350. Last year and the year before the AISC was a lot less and I expect operational improvements next year to further reduce this. Besides, HUM are debt free with a 2nd asset to be in production by Jan 2023 that brings down the combined AISC to c$1000/oz. Besides Thor has a short mine life and significant debt and yet they are valued above HUM. Only goes to show how low HUM is valued. Once sentiment returns, HUM should see a significant uplift in mcap/sp.

yellowdog, Thor has a high grade (4g/t) open pit. AISC is stated to be under $700, so each ounce could be worth 2-3 times a HUM ounce. Country risk may be an issue - first gold mine in Nigeria?

If breakout appears from the downtrend (in progress) then advances could be substantial on a daily basis - should send charting systems into a frenzy.

I have also had a look at Shanta Gold - again a much higher Mkt Cap than HUM and are having production problems - down to 60,000 oz this year.

There must be some risks with HUM that I am unaware of as otherwise it is very cheap.

Can anyone enlighten me?

HUM does look very cheap.

I've just read an article in the IC about Thor Exploration gold miner in Nigeria.

They have just poured first gold and aim to produce 100k pa. 5 year mine life. Mkt Cap £119m !!!

HUM at £77m and already producing 100k and lots to come and prospects. Makes no sense.

Not sure of the AISC of Thor - that might make a difference - nor the political risk but HUM looks a buy to me.
