Johnhemming: Exactly my view too. I sent a message to ADVFN management saying just that. I got a reply:

“I'm afraid it's not currently possible to apply filtering to the notification.
I will put this forward as feature request to our developer team.”

If enough users ask for it, perhaps it will nudge the developers into action. In principle, the edit to the code would not be complicated. Every registered user has a file listing their favourites, and a file listing their filter selections. When new posts are made on a favourite thread, instead of ADVFN just notifying the user on the favourites page, the notification could be made conditional on not all the new posts being made by filtered posters.

Changing the display so that filtered posters do not occupy a display line on the screen would entail a bigger revision, but not a big deal by the everyday standards of webpage software editing.

One thing ADVFN could improve about the bulletin board is to completely ignore posts of people who have been filtered out. That would save having to look at a board when it is someone who has been filtered that has commented.

I guess "Texaschaser" was right? HUMRF shares here on the NYSE just dropped 18% this morning. Just goes to show what a fabulous company this is. Well done with the "share holder value" Dynamite Dan! What a fabulous Ceo you are! Give yourself an even BIGGER pat on the back! And perhaps another well deserved raise?

Average gold price for March was $1722. Average for the qtr $1800 as near as makes no difference.

Re the 1st qtr production etc numbers, due out before month end, what's more important than the bald figures is the statement that accompanies them.

A negative MACD signals oversold. reading anything else into it on such low volumes is superfluous.

Yes I agree the MACD is negative, though that doesn't necessarily mean that it indicates lower prices to come. It can though. However, I think in this case it may keep rising and get us in to positive territory. That would mean the histogram bars don't dip much, if at all, below the zero line.

I have posted a chart below...duh yet again....with the MACD, plus the chart of Ian Stalkers Pasafino gold. The market has shunned him even more than desperate Dan! its all down to the gold price, mainly!

I said the same thing immediately after the 4th qtr figures were announced. 1st qtr likely show negative free cash flow and a dip into a small net debt position.

However, as I also said then, it wouldn't be the end of the world. As long as you are a gold bull, HUM is relatively cheap against other gold shares.

My major concern is the delay in getting permission to drill on the Kouroussa prospect. I submitted a question on that subject to Kat Perez.

The figure for inflation, of course, is a lagging indicator. That's why I think the real yields on inflation protected sovereign bonds are perhaps the most useful indicator of the direction of travel even if the gold market has not yet picked up on that.

There is clearly potential for inflation to increase beyond current expectations. Assuming the Fed tries to maintain short rates around zero and put a lid on long rates, real rates will become increasingly negative. A positive background for gold.
