Biden win is bad for UK trade deal - and bad for UK getting away from EU.

Asia is the place to be with this pandemic playing out the way it is. US election tomorrow - I really don't know what to believe, maybe spent too much time reading stuff over the weekend. It will be what it will be - but at least we'll know.

I am aware of that but think Singapore is more likely now.Why would they relocate to HK when they are not exactly flavour of the month with the Chinese? Also HKMA does not have the pockets of the UK regulators and could not save it if another financial crash.Massive risk - CCP who are anti HSBC after releasing details of Huawei directors to US fed plus a regulator that could not afford to save it.They are already too big in HK. They cannot sack people - you have handshakes with regulator that restricts them from reducing headcount meaning you have some people sitting around waiting for retirement for year after year.

@watford,

Actually it is always under discussion, a large number of board members favoured a move originally anyway and with the problems thrown up by the UK’s scumbag regulators freezing HK shareholders payouts as well as long suffering UK holders it has thrown it back out there. HSBC makes 16 times more money in HK than U.K. and with no bank levy there, it has plainly thrown its weight behind China as far as HK goes as China tightens up on the place and lastly the U.K. is pretty doomed, whats the incentive to keep struggling in a self harming brexit covid basket case with high operating taxes and low rates of return. They will move within 12 months I think if not sooner, Barclays may well relocate to USA HQ as well. That will happen faster if Biden gets in as he is less antagonistic towards China and has zero interest in UK and is against brexit.

News today, hsbc just announced its delisting from Euronext exchange....could well be the start of it.
