VelocyTongo, Hostelworld has an IT roadmap in place, which can be found on their IR materials. Whilst it is allegedly running on track, the company will provide further updates when they next report to the market.
You can question whether catching up on their IT efforts will be enough to resume bookings growth, but you have no reason to say that the company is not addressing its tech debt.

Yes, we do know that. Please read the report and accounts: staff costs fell and capex is running below depreciation.

And a drop in capes and staff costs. They need to spend to stay competitive and they are not.

The valuation is compelling but no sign they are addressing the tech deficit

as i said before: 'he biggest issue for me is the lack of a robust business model. by which i mean their platform is easily bypassed. it's well known by customers that they can search hostels using the HW platform, and then they can save money by going direct to hostels.'

there isnt a right move / autotrader monopoly here. there is much more risk involved.

what's important is the business' competitive position, and ability to defend and grow market share. most on here seems concerned with watching the share price, gloating and feeling validated when it goes up, and disappearing when it goes down.

Timed the selling on this one well. Still too much doubt in the market to allow a sustained rally higher. You can see by the way any strength has resulted in large selling, even when the stock appears to be in value territory.

Even with a limited free float and new institutions willing to buy in size, still many institutions wanting out and that has been evident with all the selling at 132, which ultimately exhausted the buyers and the stock has now fallen to 118p.

Not tempted to have another go down here, because the chart is breaking down again and that might also be indicative of the market sniffing bad news. The next leg up would have been a hold of 132 and a push through that level to a make a new high. Just a wait and see now to establish how the fundamentals stack up versus the market expectations.

Ultimately, watching the stock for another go, but it's all going to be centered on the trading update.

As per my previous posts, highlighted these as a short term play a few weeks back when stock was being exchanged in size at 110. Dumping into this spike now as it's near enough a 20% move.

Looks like abit more to come for holders, but only a short term play for me because I don't have conviction that the earnings guidance will be met and the downgrade cycle is thus incomplete. Ultimately, a tad beyond my risk tolerance levels as yet.

However, with the stock trading at value levels, what will be interesting to see is the reaction post a warning (IMO - FEEL FREE TO HAVE A MOAN AND RANT NOW ;)). I'll be watching to see if the buyers do come in to buy the weakness and then possibly have another go.

Might be wrong, but hell we all the play the markets differently.

Good luck folks.

Competition is the main issue as they've not and are still not investing in the platform.
