I'm excited about Horizon's position in NGS standards. I can't see that anyone can touch them in this market, although Seracare are going to have a good go but with what looks like a fundamentally weaker offering. I could see Horizon securing 50% of the market and that alone would justify their current valuation imho

Nice buy point melody. I am a 'fan' of this company.

I am a LTBH investor, so I am looking 5 years out for the BIG returns, but I would expect to see the share price start to pick up substantially next year as profit starts to come over the horizon (sorry for the pun).

picked up an initial position here today at 148p. have been watching for some time. may take some time for profits to drop through but have watched ABC over the years and want to be in nearer the start of the journey here.

Agreed Phowdo.

Also, we have had a few big sellers of late, so we could do with volume like today to get them cleared.

These new techs always take longer to reach the inflexion point than expected. Then they grow faster than anyone expected after that point. (unless they implode...)
Still hold.

Well, the one refreshing aspect from today's RNS is there does seem to be a very distinct shift in focus towards achieving profitability.. the technical and medical detail has always been beyond this dense lads mental capability.. so it's good to see that minds are very much focussed on b/e and beyond.

All just imho, of course

Disappointing price drop on today's news and announcements, and I don't think it's warranted. This is a longer term story; so, for me, it's a chance to buy some more, but I'll wait a while to see if 160p. becomes a solid support line, which I think it should and will do. A few pennies more on the price will be good insurance, IMHO.

Might as well bring stuff back to the low cost UK mamcw I guess.

I cant make the analyst call that is on at the moment but they will be posting a prsentation to the website later I think.

Lets see what the brokers make of it as well.

I am not overly concerned to be honest. Like you, this is a long term hold for me.

I may add more, but I am in no hurry.

Not really. £24 -26m revenue guidance after "losing" £2.7m in revenue due to relocation is at the bottom end of previous guidance (£28m). I'm not clear whether this £2.7m is lost or merely deferred, but it is disappointing that underlying revenue guidance is not being increased at this stage in the company's development. Also, turning EBITDA positive in 2017 is rather vague - do they mean December 2017 or earlier in the year?

My read on reflection is that HZD have lost some focus through all the initiatives they have taken, from a new HQ to acquisitions, one of which is not working out quite as expected as they are releasing a deferred acquisition credit of £0.5m due to a performance target not being met.

I was always in this for the long term - it may now be a bit longer :)

The transition in revenue mix, premises and people all seems to be a bit more difficult than previously advertised. The long term story still seems to be very much intact; but could be a bit bumpy for a while

Tight these might have been A little stronger in the run up to tomorrows results. Still look a very good long term hold for me.

Results next Tuesday should be interesting IMO.

Conference call and analyst presentation should help as well.

'Horizon Discovery Group PLC with EPIC/TICKER LON:HZD has had its stock rating noted as ‘Retains’; with the recommendation being set at ‘BUY’ this morning by analysts at Panmure Gordon. Horizon Discovery Group PLC are listed in the Health Care sector within AIM. Panmure Gordon have set a target price of 270 GBX on its stock. This would indicate that the analyst believes there is a potential upside of 62.7% from the opening price of 166 GBX. Over the last 30 and 90 trading days the company share price has increased 13 points and increased 15.25 points respectively.'

Nice.

Thanks Jambo - they are building for scale and big numbers in the future in my opinion.

A cracking company.

If I read the the latest RNS correctly, it is another very clever deal. By initially giving away their IP for drug development, they are in-bedding it into future drugs, from which they will potentially then earn serious money. The nearest analogy I can think of is how Microsoft launched its office software or Google with Android.

Agreed - they seem to suggest that up to now they have been building a scalable platform (I guess with some fixed cost) and now they are into the phase of exploiting it.

Fingers crossed.

I'm with you on this.

The new statistic that stood out for me was that they only have 2% of a rapidly growing £1.2 bn market, in which most of their competitors are using legacy technology platforms, which are rapidly becoming obsolete. If this is true, growth could really occur exponentially, as once migration starts to a new technology platform, it can suddenly soar. Will be watching the interims for further clues as to whether this is really happening.

Yes, I liked the fact that they believe they don't need to raise funds to get to profitability.

A great British company and a future success story IMO.

Sometimes these take a little while until they take off. The interims on 20th Sept might give it a nudge. Would be great to see it move over 185p and into breakout territory.
