Bizarre end to the day's trading, with someone suddenly bidding for just under 150,000 shares at 190p and another bid of 92,000 shares at 188p. Both orders not filled. Could just make Monday morning a touch more interesting.

Short term lowering of positive EBITDA for FY 2018 did not detract from the very promising future prospects. Indeed, without that decrease in guidance for this year, I suspect the shares would have been north of 200p today on the rest of the update.
So much so that I, too, couldn't resist a small top up at a tad under 179p.

When this does attract attention and the subsequent momentum the share price ought to do very well.

Correction:

I went on to my account to make sure the limit order had been placed and found that it had and had been executed at 177p at 08.27; they just hadn't bothered to notify me.

So they are investing for the future. This is a growth industry which immense future prospects, assuming good management.

My limit order was at 177p but I haven't heard that it has been filled though the price has been lower than that since.

The statement seemed very upbeat, but also said: "As a result of these investments, the Group expects to report positive EBITDA for FY 2018 before exceptional items below the current range of analysts' expectations."

I will never understand the stockmarket. I thought this morning's trading statement was very encouraging and expected the share price to shoot up not down. I thought I might do a small top up but was unable to get a definite price though the live price shown on my broker's screen was higher than that shown in my p/f. I put in a limit order at the live price shown but it has not yet been filled. I give up.

I would be interested to read what others thing of the current state of play.

Maybe it's volatility = uncertainty = wait and see. These businesses do jump up and down in price on very little news/comment; so perhaps only professionals get involved, and therefore, their purchases and sales make the price swing that much more: a self sustaining cycle. Anyway, the nudge up now is interesting, and looks encouraging. Many someone is sniffing and will come up with a price soon ...?

Agree, just look what's happening over at Oxford Biomedica OXB by way of comparison of how under rated Horizon has become in this red hot sector. Baffled as to why quite frankly! I continue to hold these shares patiently though.

Well ... it's been in the frame for a takeover, and it's in the 'right' business for the present time (a life sciences gene editing company), so if it isn't just badly run, it will have value inherent. But, how much value? Surely someone is looking it over to re-bid after Abcam got rejected? The upside therefore must be a lot more than the downside - unless there's something we don't know, which is always a risk - so, I've put an order in to limit my exposure, but am hanging on to the majority for a while longer. Almost any rise will see me in profit, so let's see. :)
