Did you receive a letter today asking people who want to vote for the offer to complete forms quickly ? They state they need 90% acceptance has to be obtained for the offer to go through.By sending this letter they obviously are no where near it.

What does everyone think of this? Anyone know by what means we can send the commission our comments. An email address would be good.

BRUSSELS (AFX) - The European Commission said it invites comments on the
proposed acquisition by Bridgepoint Capital Group Ltd and Schroder Ventures Ltd
of Holmes Place PLC.
The deal was announced on May 22.
Interested parties have 10 days in which to submit their comments to the
commission which will announce the outcome of its initial inquiry on or by July
1.

Just spoken to Fishers PA again.She put the phone down and said she has spoken to Allan who has said there legal guy is going through all the letters/fax's they have received and they will answer personally to each one.I got the impression there wasw a lot.

Could one of the 500k trades be a rollover? If so, it looks like it cost someone £240 in the spread but they could make £5.5k if the deal goes through.

HOL are sending circular to shareholders re the Offer. But given their track record they probably want to reduce their offer now that Cannons are out!

At least i've been honest from the start.........unlike some of the idiots on here.

My 'imfo' came from a respectable source( if you have a look at all of my post's i've explained it quite clearly)

Sadly, sometimes things don't go to plan!

ON a more positive note, could someone explain the large buys going through after 4.00pm?

Why would someone buy such a large amount if there wasn't the potential to make something out of it..............does someone know something is about to happen or are they just complete idiots?

There are still whispers of a bid being announced of 30p+.
Does anyone know anything about this or are the whispers that quiet?

with cannons out of the running who does that leave?

When an individual tells you how much they've lost you need to take this into account with other factors. What you require is a much fuller picture of that individual's circumstances. Esmerelda claims she has done deals of £2.5m over the past year, has debts of £130k on her credit cards, has to pay interest of £2.5k a month just to service the debts and only has £25k left. Esmerelda needs to make a profit after tax of 10% per month just to service her credit card debts and she made no mention of her essential household bills.

£130k is a lot of money to be owing on credit cards, but of course if one is earning a six figure salary and has equity of £500k upwards in your property, you can afford to pop down to your local gym without a care in the world having just lost £19k on a share. I'm not saying this is the case with esmerelda, but from £200k to £25k in a year, debts of £130k and still trading like there's no tomorrow one has to wonder how much collateral she has at her disposal.

I have jsut read your comments and i am in San Fran on business at the moment. it is an awful situation to be in and i really sympaphise with you. I too have lost £11k on Holmes and i am somewhat disappointed that i did not use the Stops that i advise my clients to use when trading currency. The touble is when are trading with your own money you are so emotionally involved it is difficult to accept cutting a losing position. I truly wish you every success in your persuit to rebuild your portfolio.
