The Minister of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera, said that this government has managed to fully reactivate the energy mining industry for the benefit of the entire country, making various projects go ahead, during an interview with the Económika program of @Agencia_Andina

During a meeting with Minister Oscar Vera Gargurevich, Hochschild Mining executives ratified their commitment to investment and thanked the #MINEM for its support to make their mining projects viable.

Ignacio Bustamante, CEO of the company, referring to the La Inmaculada Optimization project (Ayacucho), said that the evaluation process of the modification of the EIA in SENACE has entered its final stage and awaits approval in the coming weeks.

The representative of Hochschild also reported on a new discovery located in the Pallancata area, a deposit that, they estimate, will provide a horizon of 10 years of operations and that is expected to be put into production in the coming years.

Minister Vera expressed his satisfaction with the news and offered all the support of his sector to crystallize these projects that will contribute to improving the country's economy and bringing more work and well-being to all Peruvians.

If the licence is approved we have a potential recovery, but if the licence is denied the downside will be far greater than the upside from potential recovery. If you lose 50% you’ll need to make 100%

frankly until the license is resolved i'm not touching this. A big drop would be too devastating. I prefer Hummingbird (even if operating in high risk juridictions like Mali and Guinea) who will be getting their second mine into operation (Guinea) by end June. Having said that it would be hard to imagine a scenario where the license isn't approved (it would be a terrible signal for the mining industry) - but then this Peruvian government is the same one that threatened to shut the mines at one point

What company are you talking about? HochsChild is not primarily a silver play, and has not been for awhile, but I’m teasingly primarily a Gold play, as Silver runs out and mines like Arcata and Pallancata close so the remaining silver output is declining fast and some at super high cost so loss making

Quiet thread, but probably the only viable one. Many filtered on here.
Recent poor results have put people off.

Some notes to ponder: Pure silver play; Colin Bird Director (not my favourite); 2 main sites in S.Peru, but also in S.Argentina, Brazil and elsewhere; Looks a good trader, not a hold; Primary focus on exploration, mining, processing, sale of (mostly) silver and (some) gold; share price volatile – previous support c72p; Poss trader at <75p; April Prelims: heavy reductions in REV, PBT, EPS & Cash - Increased debt. Fall started after Mr Hochschild left.

Peru suffers from significant social unrest following the detention of former President Castillo and the appointment of new President Dina Boluarte and there is also serious labour unrest due to the reluctance of mining companies to share profits with their local ethnic workforce

Peru can be a dodgy place to do business. However, some signs of recovery from oversold.

Yes trader. Debt is rising at a prodigious rate, $43m in just the last 3 months, hence having to give up the Snip option that had cost them 8 figures (now down the drain, what a miscalculation by inept management) -and the entire dividend all of which is now going on interest, both those needed for the v expensive Maria Rosa gamble that is so important to replace all the lost ounces from Arcata, Pallancata etc that have run out. So this share is a double gamble on the Inmaculada permit and Maria Rosa getting going and throwing off cash fast. IF the double comes off (IF) the share could be good

Looks like - trade465 - is on the SH!T on trying negative items
Look at - Liddle - there are plenty of cheap things they say, but look for - toilet paper - if already soiled is suppose to be cheaper.
