The longest run of gains in 18 months sent gold past the 100-day moving average this week, which for some chart watchers positions it for further gains heading into 2018.

“Next year, it might not get the benefit of a dollar as weak as it was in 2017, but I think it will do well despite that,” Marty McGuire, managing director of market strategy at TJM Investments, said.

Gold rose 0.9% to $1,309.30 an ounce on Friday, closing out the year with a seventh straight daily gain that was the longest rally since June 2016.

If I am not mistaken, Petropavlovsk major shareholders have reduced by 27%
via rns statements today, dyor.

now they have sold their stake in Petropavlovsk, they seem to

All I know is over the past year when it comes to the price of Gold there has been higher highs and higher lows which is very positive for the gold price.

Always important to bare in mind is that gold mined in Russia is sold in Roubles to the banks then 80% is purchased by the Central Bank in Roubles therefore not needing to spend any valuable foreign currency.

Then as a foreign reserve the gold is held in dollars by the central bank, very, very clever by the Russian Central Bank.
