06/11/2009 20:17 | I must have a go at the FSA for not suspending Graham Shelly of Hichens and Harrison stockbrokers London ---for being the master mind and person responsible for setting up the Monaco Boys in dark glasses --an insider share dealing ring and a huge money laundering crime syndicate still oprating the london markets today kindest regards Harry | harry punter
07/4/2008 12:27 | I fancy DAN could be next. | czar
05/4/2008 02:37 | Ah well, £55m was a real bargain for the Indian boys IMO. Before the recent slump in the markets I used a consultant and came to the conclusion 400p was a good target price for HICH. Bought in at 202p sold at 275p to buy more SLN (Pharma), so I am not complaining. Still, we move on to other things. Good luck all and Gamblor are you still holding SLN? If so, I still have a feeling it has plenty of legs (my opinion, no tip for anyone else!). Eagle | ukeagle2aus
31/3/2008 06:59 | Looks like another great British company is being picked up on the cheap by the Indians. We cant blame the Indians or the Chinese for plundering our best companies when investors here run round like frightened sheep selling down good companies to the point its just a no-brainer to buy them out. HICH at £49m with cash/financial instruments of £21m and profits likely to be in the £10m to £12m range this year is being taken out at about 2.5x earings/enterprise value. What a steal, our only hope is another bidder comes in soon. NB Panceltica comes to AIM today | czar
27/3/2008 13:16 | Nope - still in :-( | gamblor2
26/3/2008 11:44 | Gamblor, hope you managed to get out before the bid came in? This was not the deal I expected and can only imagine the mkt turmoil caused such a low bid. Good luck to all, hope you managed to make some profits. Eagle | ukeagle2aus
23/3/2008 11:22 | Results are due on 31 March which as you all know will be good. I still think that the comapny will be bid for despite the turmoil in the market. | regina124
13/3/2008 00:02 | Any idea when the results are due? I think it was 4th April last year... | gamblor2
14/2/2008 11:57 | For the record I am out and into something else short-term. Looking to get back in soon, but can't have my capital tied up doing nothing with other things boiling. Good luck to those still in, hope I don't miss the boat before funds return this way. Eagle | ukeagle2aus
04/2/2008 22:48 | Yep - glad to see people buying over the 300p mark - here seems to be good volume support on the last few moves up we've had, and relatively little volume in betweem - the bulls seem to be regaining the charge on this. | gamblor2
04/2/2008 21:41 | Someone's having a laugh here! 7;1 buying volume and most of it over £3 and the bid is still at 293p, share price deserves to be over 300p. Still nice to see the 300p barrier breached anyway and hope today (your tomorrow reflects what is going on). Eagle | ukeagle2aus
01/2/2008 23:04 | over 100,000 traded today, coming alive again | czar
29/1/2008 11:13 | It's getting a bit eeeerie in this stock these days. Not a bean changed hands for days, what is going on? Eag | ukeagle2aus
22/1/2008 18:19 | Cenkos have said they are no longer looking at bidding for Close Bros. | gamblor2
21/1/2008 19:08 | So much for that bounce back in the market - I still think we are heavily oversold in general, however (specific sectors notwithstanding). HICH recovered well from the low earlier this afternoon - good sign of support given that the wider market continued to sell off. I'm off to have ar ead of the SLN thread for a much needed laugh! Good luck G. | gamblor2
21/1/2008 10:54 | Snap, although if you see my posts there today, I have snapped bigtime with a declared shorter there. Still hopefuly HICH is calm before the storm and we get some much needed get out money (given our positions in SLN). Eagle | ukeagle2aus
19/1/2008 12:33 | Eagle - £4 was my initial target too - but that was prior to the upbeat statement from the co, which leads me to believe we could go past £4 - though I watch with caution. I expect a bounce back in the general market in this week to come, and hope HICH rides that to the 330p level. SLN - yep, still waiting for the elusive 'news'.... got a feeling i'll be holding for quite a number of months yet to recover my investment. Best of luck G. | gamblor2
18/1/2008 08:28 | Hi Gamblor, snap on the SLN side, although I do hold some from 44p, I also hold quie a few at higher levels. I have full confidence in these shares though and wouldn't be surprised to see them move on some more from here. I stated above I'd like to see £4 and it would be good to see this current momentum continue to that level in the next few weeks. They seem to expect news soon (but then again isn't that's a SLN slogan?). I have backed it to go to that level, lets hope it does for all of us, good luck. Eagle | ukeagle2aus
17/1/2008 19:14 | Hi Eagle - saw your pos on the SLN thread - I'm holding both though quite deep in the red on SLN. At least HICH has helped maintain some sanity in my portfolio! tricky from here - £3ish reached on momentum, though it would be good to have some indicative numbers to assess where this one might land. Any thoughts / insights? | gamblor2
17/1/2008 09:08 | I know someone who tried to buy into these yesterday and found no one willing to release them, so MMs are either short of stock, or hanging on to them IMHO. Eagle | ukeagle2aus
17/1/2008 07:33 | I have been given a guestimate that the short position in HICH is about 400,000 shares, not a very big percentage but if these have been salted away by long term investors it will not be easy to buy these back. I checked Evil Kneivels website and he and presumably his followers have not bought back yet. Can anyone get the info on the short position? | czar
17/1/2008 07:21 | No broker forecasts that I can find but results for 2007 should be out end March early April. Last year CEO said he expected to maintain 100% growth in profits and make £6m for 2007 and £12m for 2008. After a very strong trading statement early this month I confident they hit the 2007 number and feel 2008 might be beaten. Year end cash/near cash should be around £17m and for this year £30m. Even ignoring the cash completely and going on fully taxed eps for this year they will make 50p eps giving a pe of 5.9x. Accounting for cash per share of 175p gives a fully taxed pe of 2.4x. The growth in earnings is over 100% per annum so pick a pe 10x, 20x 30x? NB these are my numbers, can anyone find a brokers note to confirm? | czar
16/1/2008 13:10 | This one is really managing to swim against the tide today? It announced an expected increase in turnover and profit before tax. So when are the figures due? anyone know? | orangepeel
10/1/2008 21:45 | I for one dont really care what a fair price is, as long as it delivers a healthy profit to me. For sure hang on in there for the long-term and reap the greater reward, but for me with some other investments on the downside at the moment, this one could deliver some much needed capital into the kitty. £3 or £4 mid-term will be enough for me. That said, I might even hold on to some sill at that price. Eag | ukeagle2aus |
