is it possible they could hold back production until the sale has gone through?

Oh well. You sold you can forget it. I haven't. "We have been shafted", no, you have been shafted. At the moment my share price has been frozen and I can sell it if I want or wait a few months and get the low price it has been offered or maybe a possible better offer as a competitor may see the potential and we may also hear from the courts and the big holders. So, I guess then I may be shafted. We will see. My vote is NOPE to the deal. St.

BoD disappointed shareholders for years, then shafted them. Nice company. One to forget.

Sold out here straight after the announcement
.
Can't see another bid on this, like others,I feel we've been shafted,in the long term we were on the right track.

Rather than wait around for a few pennies in September I moved straight across to SIA....
Nice dividend in Oct and likelihood of a company sale to finally appear.

In the short term and with the lower than expected cash as at March 31st it may be the best deal in terms of share price - hence why they Directors have recommended it.

I think after today the share would be a lot lower without the support of the takeover offer.

Well I'm not convinced the sale is 100% 'in the bag' - I absolutely don't trust tb (with hindsight clearly it's better to trust in the bod and how many alarm bells there were ad well - oh I think I'll have 2 private yets thank you please!!), I am not willing to accept the low ball offer myself, hopefully the institutions will also refuse. We all knew tb was likely to pull such a stunt with such a large shareholding..I was in dgo (along with space tomato and others here years ago) when enoc tried a low ball offer - that also seemed 'in the bag' for enoc but it was blocked in the end..

Interesting development back in former pastures:' Tullow, partners lose control of Ugandan oil field Uganda's government says it has taken back control of the Ngasa oil discovery from Tullow Oil (TUWLF, TUWOY), Cnooc (CEO) and Total (TOT) after declining to renew its appraisal license. The country's energy and minerals development ministry says Tullow never conducted further appraisal activities to establish the exact size of the reserves after striking oil and gas at the field in 2008; Tullow says it suspended activities because the field's development had become uneconomic. Ngasa becomes the second oil prospect to be repossessed by the government in less than two years.'..what's happening with the arbitration proceedings?

The buying is those who want the 5p, the selling is those who want to try elsewhere in the meantime.

I still haven't sold a single share. I am not in a hurry. Even if nothing happens the price is 320p and not 315p. Screw them.

RJCDC - it is an absolute steal for TB and the Sheik.

I sold a little more today and been adding to BLVN today.Still got 2/3rds of my shares held on the RNS.

BLVN spent $720m so far in Cameroon according to their presentation and that makes TB and Atherton look like absolute masterminds in getting OML30 for $850m with all of the infrastructure in place. I always thought that whilst they gave NPV values for the oil, the infrastructure itself was worth a lot and avoided the huge development costs that a small company has to pay to get things up and running (BLVN, GKP, IAE etc etc).

It appears that TB considers OML30 to be his own property and is taking his ball home as the market did not want to play with HOIL in giving the 4/5 quid valuation that maybe he thought it deserved.

If HOIL doesn't get 90%, do the shares remain quoted and so do the remaining holders benefit from an increased share price as the scoundrels pocket most of the loot ?

Holts,

I gather he'll remain in charge at Genel for next two years as well though - a "transition" period they call it.
