Explorer Heritage Oil was in focus after its shares jumped 15.4 to 256½p, a 6.4pc rise that was the biggest in the second-tier. Analysts and traders suggested that Glencore Xstrata's purchase of Caracal Energy had drawn attention to Heritage, as the latter company has interests in Nigeria and Caracal is focused on neighbouring Chad.

Hopefully the uptrend is back on up to the finals now, although volume was pretty low today. Tomorrow will be interesting with the Dow doing ok and oil on the rise.

20p higher than £2.10 does not bother me when brokers keep upping eps weekly for 2014 and 2015 let alone 2016

fxd - Strong support but that gap keeps diverting my eyes to @ 210. Although we are the bottom of a wedge right now, can't help thinking a sharp drop would complete the big wedge and tie up loose ends for the next leg up. Keeping some powder dry.
