04/7/2008 10:25 | Linhur, are BHY land holdings more aimed towards commercial/industria | wig123
03/7/2008 23:05 | All depends on land values. Taylor wimpey are expecting to write off £600m. BHY NAV is heavily dependant on their land holdings. | linhur
02/7/2008 09:08 | Boot is obviously holding up better than the other housebuilder PLCs but the outlook for property / construction sector is terrible. I've made some bad investments in my time but I wouldn't consider investing much in a company whose sole product line is something for which the market has virtually disappeared. | sofa spud
01/7/2008 10:47 | Yeah - My investment round Jan time has not faired too well. Classic thing of jumping in too soon...however, the dividend is nice. I'm holding long term on this as i prefer to look for stocks to buy and hold nowadays. Had my fingers burnt spreadbetting and short term trading and missed far too many big moves my jumping too soon on an upward trend. Not that that is a problem here. Company is in good health and seems well positioned to ride the turbelence in the sector. I'm still in taking the div as cash, and probably looking to pick up long term banking stocks/land companies in the next few months. Good luck with your decision... | pinemartin9
28/6/2008 18:12 | well glad I never got in around my last post time, any views from here? director didnt exactly stretch the boat out on last purchase, but there you go. Divi. still reasonable. Tempted, safe n sound stock with no nasty suprises round the corner. | wig123
12/3/2008 15:37 | Anyone got a view on tommorrows results?? | wig123
25/1/2008 11:12 | Good move pinemartin, 100% agree with you, dont listen to dev. Long term this is well worth a punt. | gwagstaffe
25/1/2008 09:58 | Picked myself up some of these for the long term. Reckon these levels are a decent entry point. Pays a dividend and the sector is unloved at the moment. | pinemartin9
23/1/2008 15:14 | Thanks Devenport, I bought in at the top so yes thinking of averaging down...but not yet Regards | lunanlodge
23/1/2008 13:29 | Will keep falling with the rest of the markets. However, the position of the company has not changed during the fall. No bad news coming, profits in line with forecasts and a full order book will ensure a retrace eventually. Turnover will rise sharply over the next two years too. I don't think anyone can confidently predict how far the price or market will fall before buying in though. | devonport
23/1/2008 13:08 | Devonport, what's your opinion on this ahare, down 40% in 4 months. MM's trading between themselves. No bad news I know of.. any thoughts? | lunanlodge
22/1/2008 17:01 | Another great tip from gwagstaffe. His last tip, Zoo Digital, lost 97% of it's value. Henry Boot are heading the same way. Avoid his tips like the plague..........espe | devonport
11/12/2007 09:57 | Notice some big trades last couple of trades. Another 57500 this morning. Anybody know if its a buy or sell ??????????? | moocow56
10/12/2007 16:27 | Hold ya nerve everyone. This is prime time to top up ! dcomd99 - Henry Boot do a lot more than redevelop shopping centres I can assure you of that. 41 Million profit on 142M turnover, now thats figures !!! Watch this space. | gwagstaffe
07/12/2007 09:28 | Thanks guys. The term safety in numbers comes to mind. Maybe we should take a lead from the FD, after all he's a man in the know. | lupilus
07/12/2007 09:22 | looks like the weather may be improving slightly on our little island. Noticed 35,000 additional shares available to purchase (without a trader reference). | lunanlodge
06/12/2007 21:06 | I'm here as well. I agree about the share purchase by FD. Shame he didn't buy more. BHY sold their house building business a few years ago. Now they redevelop shopping centres and a few other activities. | dcomd99
06/12/2007 12:44 | No Lupilus and lunan, I am still holding onto edge of your island. Good to see the FD buying shares at 158. Good profitable company and looking really cheap at current prices. imo building companies will start to boom next year, when permission is granted for all the new homes to be built up to 2020. | moocow56
06/12/2007 11:13 | Lupilus, welcome to the desert island club, just me and you I think. I share your concern. I am holding and witnessed the spectacular drop over the last 3 months. Only positive side I can think of is that they must be nearly low enough now to attract buyers. | lunanlodge
06/12/2007 09:48 | What's happened / happening to BOOT shares? Anyone out there know? BB has gone quiet lately, am I the only one left holding? Can anyone inspire some confidence? | lupilus
28/11/2007 17:24 | See there was a 25,000 Buy this afternoon. This has dropped 41% since I bought in May. Builders having rough ride recently, but I should have given this the Boot long before now. | moocow56
28/11/2007 16:10 | Still dropping like a stone on next to no trading. hvs can you elaborate on your previous comments please. Anyone still think it is a tree shake? | lunanlodge
07/11/2007 12:16 | Its trading way above asset value and 40% gearing. | hvs
07/11/2007 12:08 | Profits alert from Bovis and the sector is down seems to be the reason for fall, at least hope so... | llados
06/11/2007 12:08 | Hope so MOO Maybe should top up!! | lunanlodge |
