03/4/2007 07:53 | Why would a bonus issue make any difference. It just creates more shares, which reduces the EPS/share. | dcomd99
02/4/2007 11:06 | 6 months ago eps forecast for this year was 67p......3 months ago that had increased to 100p now current forecast I can see is 101.3p and 114.5p for next.....as far as I can see from Barclays Stockbrokers site so DYOR etc etc!! with bonus issue coming up it still looks GV IMO......10+ times next years.... | qs9

01/12/2006 09:59 | This morning: "Henry Boot PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Gunston FRICS as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1st December 2006. Michael has recently retired as the Chief Surveyor of The British Land Company PLC, where he has worked for 31 years." A further indication of the the group's shift towards real estate? | m.t.glass
21/11/2006 11:16 | Anyone notice the rather large upgrades in profit / eps forecasts? Now looks pretty cheap again IMO, DYOR etc, but if you liked it before, the upgrades put it on a p/e of around 10..... | qs9
22/10/2006 17:53 | Now look at NTA, a London housebuilder on a pe of 3.7 that in my view may fall to under 2 for this year . Cheap land in the bag, and this week web site RIGHTMOVE, has a report out saying prime London property has gone up 65% in last 12 months.!!! Profits over next 2-3 years could be huge. Todays Market Cap just 3.7m pounds. | torabora
22/10/2006 11:16 | anyone still in these....done remarkably well and recent 10% rise last week all helps. Cracking company, run very well IMO and continues to produce the results. Anyone got a view on where these may go from here??? | qs9
21/9/2006 06:29 | Since my April post these have moved from just below £7 to very nearly £9....cracking set of results AGAIN today, c.£13m pre-tax and c.34p eps. Only 30% gearing which on a property play is IMO very comfortable. Lots of delivery, and a lowly rating IMO either on an eps point of view OR a pre-tax point of view......lets hope the market agrees..... Just looked at Barclays stockbrokers for broker expectations: they were £16m pre-tax for the FULL year and 61p eps for the FULL year. DYOR but this looks as though BHY have achieved very near the profit and is well on track to beat the eps targets in the half year alone???? | qs9

25/4/2006 21:21 | Good management, good yield well covered, good asset backing, good results....good share price momentum and IMO the EV/EBITDA ratio is attractive. Up 30+p today. Am a holder so am biased obviously, but worth a look. DYOR. | qs9
25/4/2006 13:22 | Have a look at these 2 shares both in property, one in London housebuilding ,the other in commercial property. NTA, COM. | torabora
25/4/2006 12:49 | Decisive upward move today. Still looks quite good value imo. | diogenesj
05/4/2006 07:18 | Extract from introduction to FY results: Profit before tax for the year came in at £30.2m, compared with the restated £23.2m International Financial Reporting Standard figure for 2004. This £7.0m increase in profit before tax was achieved on a £16.9m increase in revenue, with total revenue for the year amounting to £101.2m (2004: £84.3m). After stripping out property revaluations from the overall £30.2m profit before tax, a £25.4m profit before tax figure was achieved compared with £13.8m for 2004. Basic earnings per share rose to 78.2p (2004: 64.6p), a 21% increase of 13.6p per share. The return on average capital employed in the year exceeded 26% compared with 22% in 2004, an increase of 18%. The increase in total shareholder returns over the five year period to 31st December 2005 has approached the 200% mark, compared with a rise of 72% in the performance of the FTSE Small Cap Index during the same time. | jonwig
12/12/2005 12:21 | LONDON (ShareCast) - Henry Boot is set to beat forecasts for the current year, the land developer said today, after successfully concluding a number of land deals. "Following the successful conclusion of a number of land deals by its subsidiary, Hallam Land Management, in the second half, pre-tax profit is now likely to significantly exceed current market expectations," said the group. Henry Boot said it now expects, subject to any adverse effects relating to pensions, and any favourable effects of property revaluations, full year pre-tax profits to come in at no less than £22.5m. "This improvement in profitability not only arises from the anticipated timing of the land sales now completed, but is also attributed to the prevailing market conditions," added Boot. I suspect the substance of this has been known 'in the trade' for a while - judging by recent strength. These were the previous forecasts: T/O pretax eps 31-Dec-05 £97.50m £18.00m 43.25p 31-Dec-06 £105.00m £20.00m 48.50p | jonwig
09/12/2005 07:25 | Historical and biographical article - In 1886 and age 35, Henry Boot commenced a one-man business as a builder with one handcart and later one horsedrawn cart. By 1914 Henry Boot had 20 horses and carts and 6 mechanically propelled lorries (trucks} and the company itself had developed into a business of "Joiners, Buiders, Plumbers, Painters and General Contractors" operating from a building on Moore Street in Sheffield, England. Henry Boot's son Charles founded Pinewood Studios. Not many people know that. | jonwig |
