Shouldnt be allowed to occur so easily, rupert. But as with buying the shares unfortunaely, we are all individuals and not a collective force. How fast they were to act in their own interests and yet how slow they always acted in shareholders interests.
Interested that CV were involved in the final stages, have come across them before.

I bought into HML on the reading of positive RNS's, (like most PIs), which were untrue or misleading so, HOW CAN THESE CREEPS GET AWAY WITH SHARP PRACTISES?
Why can't something be done about it?

only myself to blame.
building a stake in RAM
probably one for everyone to avoid if my past failures are anything to go by
lost £100k on ETQ
and £120k on here
Still carrying forward the capital losses for the day I can make a decent profit
If RAM becomes a 10 bagger.. might just stand a chance of washing my face

From today's Alphaville :

NH but on a less positive note

Nighthawk Energy Plc (HAWK:LSE): Last: 10.25, down 3 (-22.64%), High: 11.25, Low: 9.50, Volume: 15.80m

NH bit of a blowup there
NH not good news
NH for the oilers punters
BE What's the story?
NH well
NH a new CEO has come in
NH and he has found lots of horrible things
NH taking big writedowns
NH stripping the company back to one main project
NH hang on

BE That's Jolly Ranchers, yes?

NH Future investment strategy more effectively targeted to maximise shareholder returns
Decision taken to focus on Jolly Ranch and exit all other current projects
Nighthawk, the US focused oil development and production company (AIM: HAWK and OTCQX: NHEGY), announces the results of a strategic review initiated by the Board following a number of management changes, including the appointment of Tim Heeley as Chief Executive in September 2010.
Highlights
- Nighthawk will focus on Jolly Ranch and exit all other current projects to ensure capital is targeted effectively to maximise upside for shareholder value
- This strategy, together with a number of ongoing central cost reductions, will enable Nighthawk to lower the rate of cash burn significantly and to focus on asset value delivery

NH To date, approximately US$39 million has been invested by the Company in the Revere projects in Kansas and Missouri against a revenue contribution of just US$1.5 million, net to Nighthawk; this represents a revenue return on capital of approximately 4%, significantly below an acceptable level.

NH Therefore the Board has decided to assign the Company's interests in the Revere projects to the operator, Running Foxes Petroleum Inc., with effect from 1 January 2011. Thereafter, Nighthawk will no longer have any future capital liability on the project. In return for the assignment, Nighthawk will receive a 5% over-riding royalty from production and 25% of any sale proceeds, within the next two years, if the operator sells any part of the property to a third party. Nighthawk has also retained an option to re-enter the assets at its own choosing for which Nighthawk would have to pay historic costs attributable from the reassignment date plus a 20% uplift.

NH and there's a few more like that
NH and this
NH which basically says
NH tear up all the previous forecasts

NH In the meantime Schlumberger is concluding its reservoir simulation and production modelling of the Craig and Jolly Ranch areas of the project and will shortly pass the simulation model to GCA to undertake the first Reserves and Resources study on the project. Although at this stage of development the actual reserve figure is expected to be low given the early stage of development and the relatively small area under consideration, it will be the first step in helping define a firm value for reserves and contingent resources on the Jolly Ranch project

BE This is the same company that went after the ADVFN muppets for defamatory posts a few months ago, isn't it?
NH it is
BE Oh – their website's crashed.
BE I can't get the RNS.
BE Right – got it out of Google cache....
NH excellent
NH let's have a look
NH it will make me laugh
BE Oh – can't copy. Help! Neil. Help!

NH The board of directors of Nighthawk, the US focused hydrocarbon production and development company, is pleased to advise of action that has been taken and is continuing in response to persistent defamatory and untrue postings on the Interactive Investor Trading Limited ("iii") and ADVFN plc ("ADVFN") bulletin boards. The postings concern the operations of Nighthawk and its management which the board considers to be extremely damaging to the Company and its reputation.
The Company took steps to identify the posters who try to escape liability for their defamatory postings by hiding behind a cloak of anonymity, using anonymous email, social networking or bulletin board accounts to disseminate those postings. In some cases the names and other details used to register these accounts are fictitious and posters also can try and cover their tracks using numerous pseudonyms but they can be traced through their IP addresses.
The operators of the bulletin board services can be prevented by confidentiality and data protection laws from disclosing the names and other personal information associated with the accounts. However, the English Courts can exercise their discretion and order such disclosure, provided certain criteria are met.

NH In the High Court of Justice on 28 June 2010 Nighthawk obtained a Norwich Pharmacal order instructing iii and ADVFN to provide information in respect of various posters, who were posting material that the Court accepted could be defamatory.
Both iii and ADVFN are assisting the Company with providing the relevant information including details of the posters.
The identities of various individuals behind these postings have now been established and the Company and its directors are now considering with their legal advisers instituting civil proceedings against them for defamation.
NH what a waste of time
NH the previous management
NH had better things to do
NH rather than trying to chase muppets through the courts
NH always a danger sign that
NH or when a company starts firing off writs
NH and moaning about short sellers
BE Always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always blows up.
BE It's guaranteed.
NH yep
NH and if the CEO also has a beard
NH or wears a leather biker jacket
NH then its probably terminal
NH and administration beckons

The application for patent protection would have been submitted months ago prior to confirmation. The 'you know who' have the bought the patent rights ( nice and cheap ) from HML and will now go on to pocket any returns from the property rights of any successful outsourcing of vaccines of which the private investors originally contributed their hard earned.

Hope one day to meet this pair to discuss the situation.

kipper8, I would say you are absolutely right there. Laws exist so that people don't take matters into their own hands. When the laws don't offer protection, all bets are off I suppose.

I lost 15K. I was strung along into believing that we had a deal with share price We had nothing. I do not think that IP and AK were open and honest with us. I am told that they set up a new company even before HML was in administration. Maybe its all gone but I am hoping for two things. AK and IP having to watch their backs all of their lives as some former shareholders are still very angry. Also the two forementioned ba*tards do not live to enjoy their ill gotten gains. This is all in my opinion.

People invested in this company and lots went on to re-invest on the information supplied by the company directors via rns's to the general public.
The validity of these statements issued and the actual facts of events taking place would need proof that any deception towards PI's was taking place.
In other words, can it be proved the directors withheld information pertaining to events that could effect the demise of the company and its private shareholders.

The whole episode, and the company accounts of HML would need to be thoroughly scrutinised by an independent qualified body and presented to both the administrator and companies house.

All IMO and not meant as an accusation against parties concerned.

FWW, I sold out prior to administration of the company and moved on, but, nay forgotten nor forgiven those involved in my financial loss.
