07/4/2020 05:35 | Here in Vietnam it is increasingly hopeful. We have only had a few cases in the last week and with all borders closed we might well be able to declare the country virus free and return to normal life soon. | andyj
06/4/2020 16:28 | Andy - what's the atmosphere like? As at close of business on 3 April 2020, the unaudited net asset value per share, calculated in accordance with the AIC formula (including current financial year revenue items) was 280.0p. As at close of business on 3 April 2020, the unaudited net asset value per share (excluding current financial year revenue items) was 278.0p. | skinny
06/4/2020 16:20 | Back in the trading desk after a month off. At least you can all see now that the virus I warned you about on January 25th was a warning worth listening to! My mistake was underestimating how much it would spread globally, from here in Asia it is hard to understand the complacency that was clearly evident there. | andyj
25/3/2020 21:29 | Seems an unusual share to trade with tiny volume and big spreads but if it works for you well done. | tim 3
25/3/2020 20:55 | Have traded this stock on the way down. Doing so on the way back up is going to be so much harder. | exel
23/3/2020 20:08 | That very late, late, update on HFEL's 20/3/20 underlying asset value per share comes as something of a shock? that I seriously wasn't expecting? Check it out and DYOR. Tomorrow is 'yet another' day. ex (neither ramp nor de-ramp intended). | exel
21/3/2020 09:29 | Indeed interesting article and HFEL maintained there dividends during the financial crisis of 2008. So - yes the share prices are currently being hammered across the board - but if dividends are maintained - during the recovery period - with dividend reinvestment i do get extra shares due to the lower price. Across my portfolio that is drip feeding approx 2K per mth ,across about 15-20 funds - so hopefully longer term i will benefit. | carterit
20/3/2020 07:28 | Interesting piece by Mike Kerley. Thanks for sharing, uapatel | exel
19/3/2020 10:14 | Made an error here buying more too early. Whole portfolio is absolutely hammered. Not selling will see this thing through. | tim 3
19/3/2020 09:19 | Was looking for Andyj. Was enjoying his insightful comments from the region. Looking to top up here before long. Question of timing though. | noiseboy
18/3/2020 11:30 | nb, yes!. Will usually just post if I think there is anything worth adding to the discussion. As I thought might happen the UKX has now corrected sharply. Mentioned Europe was next in the firing line, although no bonus points for that call!. About everything being cheaper atm. Luck with your holdings. | essentialinvestor
18/3/2020 11:27 | RCT, hopefully I saved you from a PHTM hit. | essentialinvestor
18/3/2020 08:47 | Are your still here Andyj?! | noiseboy
13/3/2020 10:39 | An 11% intra-day turnaround on the ASX. Staying on geographical topic - it's a Chinese curse to live in interesting times ). | essentialinvestor
12/3/2020 15:46 | I think my 250p NAV, 200p share price is not unrealistic. | rcturner2
12/3/2020 10:17 | I never to get0t 1,000 shares below 2?88, had to split the trade into 2 X 500. Would to not sell any more at that price. | essentialinvestor
12/3/2020 08:39 | No probs, luck with that. It's looking more and more like a year market now. The late 2015 V shaped bounce now hard to see?. | essentialinvestor
12/3/2020 08:03 | EI, thanks for the heads up on PHTM, I'm holding from a very low price so not too worried although of course anything can happen at the moment. I think there is likely to be a lot of dividend holidays all over the shop. The BoE yesterday virtually asked companies not to pay dividends. I can see a 6/12 month window when companies conserve cash. | rcturner2
12/3/2020 07:59 | RCT, Well never say never, but I would see that as an unlikely outcome - outside of a dividend cut. As mentioned yesterday any dividend reduction would alter investor sentiment. There are Asian trusts available on large NAV discounts currently. Just off topic and fwiw RCT, might be a little careful of PHTM, I know this company well and held in quantity previously, as per my posts from a few years ago. I sold out just under 1.70 on average. Will PHTM be able to maintain their dividend?, would question that. Corporate strategy arguable looks s little scatter gun, too many business areas? The B2B laundry investment I strongly disagree with, B2C bullish on. Very much a case of IMV only, DYOR. I met Dan David a number of times back in the day. | essentialinvestor
11/3/2020 16:42 | Good luck to you am poor at that myself tend to keep things simple these days. Will say one thing have noticed over the years you are good at getting in at the right price. | tim 3
11/3/2020 10:48 | Hi Tim, I'm trading a % holdings frequently atm, attempting to reduce holding prices. It's fiddly. | essentialinvestor
11/3/2020 07:53 | Tim, I started to buy a small amount of ISF yesterday, would not surprise me to see the UKX get to around 5500/5600?. | essentialinvestor |
