The equity partner would be in "Avonmouth Power?" not in "Helius PLC" as per Rothes which was funded under "Helius CoRDe Limited" So Helius's share price won't be directly affected by any deal by agreements in Avonmouth.

Don't forget 50% of Helius is owned by the BoD so they are just as keen as us to see the share price rising.

if the equity partner coming in, it will means dilution so they could come in at sub 1p??

MOPW is another example where placing was done at 75% discount, last week!!

All sorts of things could happen from here but I doubt this is the end.

Macquarie could come with the goods on the funding.

The grade industrial partner may had pulled out hoping to pick up the site on the cheap.(Stallingborough went for £28m'ish)

On the 1st Sep a hint of Rothes could be sold at a premium, on the books it's worth £8.5m so we could see >£10m

So there are several ways Helius could see lump sums coming in which would give us cash to focus on Southampton.

Given that we're tight for working cap, it sounds likely that we might sell some of our stake.

After all the previous delays on Avonmouth hopefully this is the last!

However this update does give some meat on it, ie numbers on the project fee's due to be collected.

But the one thing I noticed and maybe the biggest earner was about Rothes,

"On this basis, the Board believes that CoRDe is a high quality project, which would be attractive to investors and could command a valuation in excess of that attributed at financial close."

Are we thinking of selling our holding for hard cash?

An update at last - it'd be good to achieve financial close on Avonmouth by November.

The Avonmouth site has been held up by the Government IMO

hxxps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/electricity-licence-exemption-for-avonmnouth-biomass-facility

You can bet the funding won't be released until this issue is agreed, this is probably why the results we're held up until the last moment.

Even governments do make decisions eventually, so once this is made then things can start.

I do feel a bit for the BoD as the Government just drag their heels as per normal.

I don't doubt that they'll secure funding at a reasonable level, but had hoped to see more positive progress

Agreed spaceparallax. Looks like it is touch and go as to whether they will get the required funding, and if it is raised it is going to be at a very low dilutive level. Doesn't seem to have been any real progress on Avonmouth since the last update either.

A disappointing update - lots of potential remains, but we need action to secure real progress.

Old thumper, thanks for that.Heres hoping they get a move on then.

The future lack of electricity is hardly a problem today!

What with all the other current problems ,no need to deal with a future one!

fidra, I think you'll find we're waiting on the government's confirmation of a Electricity Licence Exemption, this is the key to the funding being released. The problem is the Government drag their heels so much!

This was published yesterday, just to prove Ed Davey does something during he's idle moments :-)

I'm surprised no RNS? but it's not completed until May.

The Government are under pressure as the 400mw limit for the RO power stations isn't getting to much support (so far >100mw) so they need Avonmouth to save their face. Also the country will have a big problem by 2017 when the first power cuts are due to hit so the Government must act now!

The Government have for years pressed people to convert to low energy lights to save power, yet now they are encouraging buses and van/truck fleet operators to electric vehicles.

As for protests, All renewables have a downside,

Solar, you lights don't work when it's dark
Wind, they don't work if it's calm or too windy
Tidal, hugely expensive
Nuclear, the technology that man doesn't fully understand and isn't under control.
Personally I rather like having a bonfire!

Ta Callum. being an ex-resident from North of Bristol, I find the idea of ruining their air quality rather laughable - it was some of the dodgiest air that I've encountered - probably due to the huge chemical plants in the area.

As for the City standing for ethical things - they appear to have conveniently forgotten their proud slaving and tobacco heritage. Methinks it's simply a case of narrow-minded NIMBYs who don't want change in their backyard, even if it is in fact for the greater good.

Given the current fears over Russian gas supplies, I find it inconceivable that any of the renewables projects currently under consideration should be refused simply because of an over vocal minority.

I do however support their use of bikes over cars.

Do a search on Google for "Helius Energy" for the last 24hrs and I think you'll find the reason for the rise.

Things are moving....but slowly!
