Would not describe myself as well informed on the sector but bought back
recently and those results look reassuringly good to me.

anyone well informed here? I guess selling up assets helps improve balance sheet but does not do much for income versus debt payments?

Read more: Office capital values in the City of London hit after the Brexit vote

Prices fell by 1.1 per cent in the first quarter and then by another 0.9 per cent in the second quarter. JLL said price falls over the past year have hit high-value properties particularly hard - but large, single-floor flats have performed better than houses or other types of apartment.

Neil Chegwidden, residential research director at JLL, said: "Given recent uncertainty it is unsurprising that prices have weakened again during the second quarter."

The research from JLL follows on from similar data released by Knight Frank researchers, who found that prime central London house prices fell by 1.5 per cent year-on-year in July.

No, its a happy face from those who bought in recently and have seen a decent price rise, or in badtime's case actual realised profits.

Would someone please explain to an old timer what :) means !

I assume it's a negative view of the company at the current price. And certainly the London focus may be a concern relative to similar companies with greater activity outside London. However I think Speedsgh has flagged up an interesting approach via the bonds.

Have taken the alternative route to exposure to Helical + picked up some of the 6% 2020 bonds (HB20) at 101.5p today. Will hopefully provide a steady income over next 4yrs.

Have known HLCL since the early 90's, this is a highly astute BOD.

Attempting to call an exact low is exceptionally difficult,
if wider markets plunge we could possibly trade under £2 for a time.

I would be far more confident in the longer term outlook,
this looks a decent multi year buy and hold to me - all just imv only.

Essentialinvestor,

Yes thanks, but did you see that the poor chap bought stock just before the referendum result at 399.5 on the 26th of June, still he must have had a lot of confidence at that level ?

I think there is a line of stock being sold right now at around 230, hence no bounce yesterday but quite good volume. If so once it clears I hope for a better price.
