28/2/2005 21:24 | There was mention of the acreage of the Blackwood site. I have just re-read the circular of 25/2/03 regarding the disposal of Hawtin Park. This states: "Hawtin owns 19 acres of vacant development land adjacent to Hawtin Park which is not part of the disposal. It is anticipated that this land will eventually be sold." | sharw
24/2/2005 08:18 | No position, but I might buy some depending on the price. If they go back to 10p that would be cheap as the Blackwood site would be in the price for next to nothing then. Perhaps Perloff will bid but at 15p a share he's paying a pretty full price for a fairly odd assortment of properties, plus he'll still have the uncertainty of the future of the Blackwood site to consider. I still think his interest is in the Blackwood site, it's that that is mentioned specifically in Panther's results. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
23/2/2005 21:55 | At the end of the day is this earnings enhancing for Panther. Yes, I think it probably is as they can totally eliminate the administrative costs. Can possibly see a bid at 15p with a share alternative coming in the Spring. | topvest
23/2/2005 15:40 | thanx arthur,have you got a position? | ntv
23/2/2005 13:32 | NTV The site itself is bigger than 19 acres (which is probably where Panther get their 35 from) but according to Hawtin only 19 are suitable for development. I think that's where the discrepancy comes in. I don't know what building land in Blackwood goes for theses days, it's not exactly Mayfair but perhaps the site is worth more than the 5m book value. As far as I know no application has gone in yet and I am trying to follow it to see what happens when it happens. If Perloff's going to make a bid I wouldn't mind betting he'll wait until the picture is clearer on this site, since I think this is probably where his interest lies. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
23/2/2005 11:29 | good name arthur,i need your name sometimes | ntv

23/2/2005 08:45 | NTV Only 19 acres of that land is suitable for development. | arthur_lame_stocks
22/2/2005 22:15 | Didn't realise that Perloff paid 13p NTV - I got a good deal on my purchase then! | topvest

22/2/2005 20:33 | On 21st June Panther acquired 15% of Hawtin PLC, an AIM quoted company (Portnard Limited, one of my private companies, having previously acquired 14.5%). The price paid in both instances was 13p per share. Hawtin PLC was previously a conglomerate which had, in recent years, sold off all of its trading businesses whilst retaining its former freehold factories as investments. It also holds 35 acres of land in Blackwood/Gwent, South Wales zoned for residential and industrial use. The revalued book value of Hawtin PLC's net assets was 15p per share. I have been appointed to its Board and hope it will prove a successful investment for Panther. | ntv

02/12/2004 21:48 | Can't be in bid talks yet, if a director has bought some shares. Maybe a deal after their year-end though? I supect Perloff will make a move when it is most prudent and cost effective to do so. | topvest
