Following the announcement in early March that the Finance Director, Donald Borland has tendered his resignation after only one year in office, I think it would be valuable to understand the reason for his action, and why he has chosen not to work through the business recovery process with the leadership team, now that the extended funding package has been announced.

they may be bitter they may not. here is what i have heard. make of it what you might. activity is down against last year. customers stopped placing orders after the profit warning and all that wenbt with carillion. now that might come back or it might not but the simple fact remains that after the propfit warning customerd fled. massive own goal by this chairman who was there for the full year statement, there for the agm and didnt realise how badly behind they were. simple fact is if this goes down then the person who is not accepting responsibility is the chairman despite the fact he is going around saying he sacked ritchie.

Timnet. They did have a few big clients left. Primark, Post Office and Kmart in Australia. Boots and M&S do not place much business now. If any of there other 2 go they will be in serious trouble.

TT2, if I've been reading your past efforts correctly, HVE didn't have any "major clients" left.

The market has many good companies that operate in this market sector. The current situ with British Thornton does not necessarily mean that Havelock will benefit.

You'd think that the disposal of competition would lead to a fillip in share price, due to uncertainty versus stability, but obviously not!

No doubt. This a vehicle to give money to directors. Out of shareholders pockets Into theirs. Things need to change or this is 1 year away from bankruptcy

You can be sure the BoD are all still there, drawing their wedges. The day they are down to them only, and the pot is starting to run dry, then I expect they will come up with another new plan to keep themselves drawing their salaries and in a position to say - what a wonderful plan we have devised, that will turn HVE into an even bigger enterprise than it ever was if all goes to plan but we have had to raise new money at 1p to do this. All from my crystal ball of course. DYOR

The H&M account never got the chance to get cosy. Like everything they appointed a team that did not have one clue what the client wanted. They failed to deliver on the clients expectations. The so called team leader was a electrical engineer hired to check out Electrical and Heating and Ventilation designs and quotations for the business. Its funny that 2 of the team leaders had been team leaders on the Aviva fiasco.

In their defense ( proving not ex-employee!!!) the Swedes tend to rotate framework contractors out after a period of time, to stop people getting too cosy in relationships, and to take the contract back to more keen contractors. Like all Scani's though, they also have a very high sense of integrity in business......
