The new CEO does not understand the business or the company. He has to ask the Director Management department heads, the same ones who have under performed and ruined this company. They tell him everything is good its everybody else. Result the same old cycle of bad incompetent management continues. It will only change when a mass clear out is undertaken.

Do tu dears tans why everyone thinks that this new chairman is any good. Did he not authorise the finals? Did he not deliver the AGM statements? Seems he was asleep at the wheel collecting his salary!

Problem is these highly skilled people have been lead by the likes of EP and DR. Both too af aid to make serious change. Question is is IG and newbie any different? What is AB waiting for? He has to be considering taking the his private, after all IG is cooked without his support.

One thing wrong here as we all no highly skilled personnel is hard to find especially when the havelock wage structures are the lowest you get for good timed workers ,whom no there jobs , with hind sight how this company work getting rid of good time served men bringing in men whom have never been in this trade have no ideas of basics in the trade hence mistakes (I saw it happen ), truthful tommy speaks like me one whom has and still have good workmates and doesn’t want to see this company go down . One more thing to management listen to time served men on shop floor , listen and take it on board

My understanding is that this is round 1. Management is next, they know they are weak. Better to build a Labour base around lower turnover cos it is reality

Its not a rumor but true they have asked the workforce to take voluntary redundancy. The trouble is HR have been inundated with applicants. Its not foot soldiers that's the problem, but the underperforming idiotic managers that need to be sacked. Until that happens Havelock will be in the same boat next year.

The BOD need to take voluntary redundancy without pay rather than the workers. Shambles.

Don't be surprised if this one gets delisted sometime in the next year trade volumes are very low as is market capitalisation. I am not a holder but the costs of the listing would be better spent sorting out the business

They have negative tangible assets, they burn cash, if I was their bank manager I'd be worried about getting my money back. There is no way this company can survive without a fund raising IMO. This company needs management who cam live within their means. The fact is you can't spend more than you earn and the sooner this company learns that the better. (IMgrumpyO) :)

longer term ideas of this company seem to be on the right track, presentation looks ggod. but the question still hangs over us all. does it have the funds with the pension deficit to do what it needs to do? it managed its way through 2009 to today by selling off assets. but there are non left so this is it. if management can pull this off it will be a Houdini act of the greatest magnitude,.

This should be a company that’s going up , unfortunately due to bad management over the years with numinous losses it looks like things are getting bad , I worked there we had a man whom looked at the company new how to run it properly , then this lot came in first thing I noticed pallets everything was put on these rapped up in polytheism , how much did this cost ?? Next thing every other week we were taking to team information chats 2 hours take it 350 people taking part money time lost in production ????? To me bring back McColl get this company back we’re it was

It is only when the underperforming elements get removed will Havelock move forward. The problem is its all of the departmental heads. Along with some very incompetent project staff would have to go Only a small number. You can produce charts, you can forecast your hopes. But unless you can price the work correctly, deliver what you promise, and collect your monies owed, your not going to survive. Shaun Ormrod only needs to look back at the last 4 years results to see that it not rocket science.

Now and finally there is a good and realistic plan in place, which is brilliant news.My only concern is that there has not been any reference to dealing with non performing elements , but this can be assumed in the statement that whey will operate within their means. Havelock have a really talented team including some very professional craftsmen and have historically produced really excellent work. Havelock have now a competent leadership team , who have come from outside and should not be burdened by legacy issues . The managenent team must not shy away from identifying and dealing with non performing elements currently within the business , and to deal with any legacy issues where practices were introduced in different times , which are not appropriate for the revised circumstances of the business. They also need to bring in new blood to refresh and revitalise the business. The new business plan is realistic, given proper time to transit and not overpromising and underdeleriving . Focus on customer services and engendering a revised sense of pride in the workforce, are very important steps showing the way forward.I am really looking forward to the next steps of the Havelock journey.
