Nice new website, they had a good opportunity to sell " New Havelock" what do they do? They showcase: Paul Doleman, John Gillespie & Robert Wallace - Old Havelock!!!! Demonstrating that little has changed !!!

Lots of good but also lots of bad. Questions still over this management teams delivery. Are they capable of delivering we have had 2 years of DR and his performance so far is worse than EP.

Noticed a couple of buys this morning so reread the April Finals and June Trading Update from earlier this year. Realised that the slow H1 had already been flagged in the Finals at which time the shares reached 50% higher than today. Tempted myself into a top up on the basis that - - good progress reported in Finals especially re margins - Interims 7 weeks or so weeks away - chart resting just above recent support - expectation of strategic review announcement with Interims - currently only 20k shares available @ 9.95p before the Offer moves up to 10.4p Risks as I see them - Retail/Lifestyle/Corp Svs revenue doesn't materialise - strategic review not announced with Interims or not well received

How can a Company based in Bahrain be closer than STY?

No the sty boat sailed a long time back. Basically TL was not interested in taking on hve regardless of any possible synergies. I believe the story was why buy when they were taking market share hand over fist. This relates to a much closer company than sty. In fact sometimes the student becomes the master.

HH is presumably banging on again about STY having a crack at HVE. STY seems to be running out of steam.............. Maybe the reverse might now be more likely.

I can rememember the optimism when AB was buying more shares and getting more control. I wonder what his take on the current situation is. He stopped posting on here last year as far as I can tell.

Presumably horrid hardy believes that this will be taken over, and obviously a bidder would have to pay a premium to the current share price to gain control, and for that reason many holders are hanging on despite being continually frustrated by the company's trading performance.

HorridHenry, please explain what you mean by: "this company will no longer exist as an independent company" and how this relates to the previous statement as to why people still hold shares in the company!!!
goodoldays

Quite simply because within 18 months this company will no longer exist as an independent company.

So many other companies to invest in than HVE. I'd be interested in reading why people holding are still doing so?

"ERP is fully operational and the company are seeing the real benefits from this" Can someone tell me what these "real benefits" are?

Personally I like having tt2 here. It gives balance. After all this company has been a resounding failure over the passed 9 years. The jury is stillout whether they can turn the rusty, supeftanker with water leaking all over, around.EP did it but turned it into the wrong fing direction.

gleach23,the incredibles,gill25,tonto12. Its not bad luck that Havelock Europa revenue has been reduced from £100.8m in 2012 to £70.3m in 2015 and then to 60.8m in 2016. This equates to 10m a year. The pension deficit has increased to 9.4m. Its certainly not bad luck that around 10 major clients have been lost. Its not bad luck that large scale redundancies have taken place. The fact and truth is its down to extremely bad management. Its a fact that a buying director took charge of the estimating team. Its a fact that the guy who spent years recruiting sub contractors has taken over H&S Its a fact that maybe 5 to 10 per cent of the work force receive bonuses. The figure is hard to verify as its the biggest open secret in Havelock. A secret Dave Richie promised to eradicate 18 month ago. Nothing said on this forum can change the loss in revenue, or the pension deficit. Or change the redundancies or bring back the lost clients. The facts remain facts. BUT THE TRUTH ALWAYS HURTS.
