On the other hand, it is now official: "Tungsten West Plc said the intention to proceed with an initial public offering (IPO) would net the firm £39m before expenses. And it said it already has raised £36m from investors which means it is expecting to have enough cash to fully start production at the mine on the edge of Plymouth." So that's another £1m a year for 8 years to the bottom line for HSP which is in not in brokers' forecasts. Plus a significant mining contract.

Couldn't take it anymore! Have bought a few more @ 424, as I have confirmed my £6 target for 12 months. Mustn't be greedy, 40% + nearly 5% div is enough!

Bother. Too busy with family today to buy early on. Market makers, please let it drift down again for a few days. Has the dip been to do with Richard Griffiths re-arranging his holdings?

The German division is a supplier of coke & coal and coal dust amongst other materials, so must be benefitting from higher coal prices.

Can someone tell me ..does HSP have any coal interests left, ie would it be a beneficiary of higher coal prices. ?

Added a few more at £4, ok a lot higher price than my initial buys (average at £2.09) of HSP, but property holdings should underpin HSP and they are continuing to buy land sites. Earth works looking good with HS2. German holdings HRMS should make progress with coal pulverisation plant.

I'm waiting for a few things. First is for the share price to stop falling for at least 2 or 3 days. Yes I will always miss the bottom by doing this, but I can live with that. The investor in me sees this as decent value, but the trader says wait and don't go against the obvious downtrend (I bought a few things last month that I shouldn't have - ie SDRY/STAF where the trend down continued). Second is that I'm wondering about a proper fall in the major indicies that will drag down everything. Thats more difficult to guess and of course may never happen. I think I'm up around 18% this year, but down 10% over a month and its the pain that I'm currently feeling. Its worth noting that my two biggest holdings are small cap trusts, and these are also about 10% off their late august highs. So I'm not alone.

Well, I wonder what you are waiting for now? Below £4? A number of us have a £6 target. I think the price has gone down on some people being invested for the coming divis and realising that the HMRS might be sold off for an acquisition warchest. Which is certainly a possibility, given Harwood Capital's involvement. But I don't believe Christopher Mills approved their stake with a £4 ambition. Current market cap is around tangible book value, which doesn't have any of the upsides factored in. And by the way, the Tungsten West IPO is in train now, which would give another little boost.

Now around the same level as where they issued the “significantly ahead” trading update. A lot of my small caps have really come down over the last few weeks vlx/rch/staf/strix and have similar charts to this one. On my watchlist, I have 40% in cash and itchy fingers.
