21/8/2014 16:43 | Thanks for the links. Even if the environmentalists prevail, it's clearly going to be a very long road for Hardide to travel. But what does the US EPA think of hard chrome - don't they also have a programme to eliminate it? | bobdouthwaite
20/8/2014 22:50 | The present providers of Hard Chrome the metal finishing industry are lobbying Europe, not only on the grounds the health and environmental risks of Chrome are well understood and controlled, but, if Europe do stop the Aircraft overhaul & repair operators from using their preferred coating, Hard Chrome, that what will in fact happen is that repair and overhaul work will just move outside Europe, with the loss of all of those high paid jobs, not, that the owners of the aircraft will say lets change all of those long standing Standards & Specifications' just for Europe'. It is an interesting case with the fanatical 'environmentalists' using the REACH legislation against one of the Markets/Industries that Europe does compete with the USA, aircraft construction, repair......... etc. Most of what has been restricted under REACH, so far, had readily available alternatives, Hard Chrome does not. A few links that say to me this is going to be a long fight. | chrisgail
20/8/2014 16:13 | chrisgail, why will hard chrome survive? | bobdouthwaite
20/8/2014 14:46 | Exactly chrisgail. I too have been watching HDD for years, and I sometimes think people are hypnotised by the penny share price and pay no attention at all to the m/cap. For HDD to double requires an almost £50m m/cap. How likely is that, and how many years is it likely to take?!! Amati and Hargreave Hale have increased their stakes, so it could be a case of WTFDIK. But perhaps they're in the game of protecting their original investment and not wanting to face writedowns/losing face in their portfolios. | rivaldo
20/8/2014 13:40 | chrisgail. If you find out,do let me know. I jibbed at paying 0.2 pence and nothing seems to have changed; except that I spurned a money making opportunity. | mudbath
22/7/2014 14:53 | I have bought back in here today having been in some years ago and made a loss !! It looks to me as if the company is really on the up now and hopefully this is a really good entry point. This would be a nice change as i have many others under water !! Good luck all | lesable

09/6/2014 16:27 | Voila! A mark recorded L(ate) - 850,000 sold @ 2.318p | ansc
09/6/2014 12:53 | Each to his own. Once again you can buy at a lower price than you can sell - 50k @ 2.34/2.351p. The last time this occurred, it transpired that there was a large sell waiting in the wings. I'll be watching with interest. | ansc
09/6/2014 10:15 | Nothing to do with so called mingy machs. Simply down to some big buys first thing, the retrace down to people taking profits. At this level and with such low liquidity, the share price is easily swayed by such relatively large buys or sells. | lateralam
09/6/2014 09:31 | One would imagine that there's been a recommedation somewhere over the weekend hence the sharp mark-up first thing on minimal volume; Mingy Machs living up to expectations! When will we be hearing news on the seemingly never-ending aerospace testing programmes? I thought it was anticipated an announcement would be made in the first half of 2014. Not much time remaining. | ansc

28/5/2014 10:40 | ---ADDS BROKER COMMENT AND UPDATES SHARE PRICE--- Hardide (LON:HDD), the provider of advanced surface coating technology, said demand is returning to more typical levels after destocking by a major customer. Revenue in the six months to 31 March rose 4% to £1.31mln from £1.26mln in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. | aim_trader
28/5/2014 08:57 | Good point. I think now is a good time to invest as they have capacity in place -key point for me is the impact of operational gearing here. Any incremental sales will show up nicely in terms of higher profits. | meijiman
28/5/2014 08:17 | Closer than ever, and clear indications they wish to expand. I wonder if that will require additional cash? However re-opening the US base may be more about the requirement to have a second discrete manufacturing base - a requirement for some clients / potential clients. They mentioned this two years ago at the AGM. Best wishes- Mike | spike_1 |
