This is a quietly confident thread, with the emphasis on the "quiet" :o))

Which is a good thing.

Moving up nicely prior to a likely year end trading statement in the next two to three weeks (last year's was 16th July).

I note the rather encouraging relevant part re HGR8 from AIP's AGM statement this morning:

"Trading in the Private Jet division remains strong, with both the US and UK performing particularly well"

Interestingly, HGR8 have commissioned a totally new web site - much improved from the old, rather amateurish one. Another sign of the company growing up - and there's some positive news articles which haven't been posted before re growth in Africa:

"Hangar8 expects significant growth in demand for private aviation in Ethiopia, Africa

More anecdotal evidence that HGR8 continues to do well

"London Oxford And Hangar8 On The Up
by David Donald
May 22, 2014, 7:45 AM

London Oxford Airport has continued to grow its business aviation activities over the past 12 months, while its tenants, such as Hangar8, also continue to expand their operations. To celebrate six years of running the OxfordJet FBO, the airport is making an offer for the duration of EBACE to halve landing and parking fees for the rest of the year for operators of business aircraft of more than 4 metric tons mtow, subject to availability.

Here at EBACE London Oxford is co-exhibiting with major tenant Hangar8 (Booth 1018), which has recently reorganized as a multi-branded company. The traditional charter and operations arm is now handled by Hangar8 Aviation while Hangar8 Aero Medical looks after medical-evacuation missions. Hangar8 Logistics is involved with leasing, logistics and cargo. A newly created division is JetClub, which caters to the aviation needs of ultra high-net worth individuals.

Hangar8 has recently added two new types to its UK AOC in the form of a Bombardier Global 5000 Vision and an Embraer Legacy 650, both of which are available for charter. The company is expanding its activity considerably in Malta and also Nigeria where the company operates 14 business jets flying in support of the oil/gas and mining industries. Hangar8 will also open an office at the London Battersea Heliport, which is owned by the Reuben Brothers, who also own London Oxford. "

Positive comments from the CEO about going "from strength to strength":

"Leading global aviation management and charter company Hangar8 Aviation Exhibiting at EBACE 2014
05/14/2014 | by Hangar8 from press release

Hangar8 Aviation, the UK-listed global aviation management and charter company, will be exhibiting at the 2014 European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE), which opens next week at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland.

This year Hangar8's stand incorporates a coffee bar, with the company encouraging any show visitors suffering from the effects of a long flight, or a late night meeting, to pop in and wake up with a Hangar8 coffee.

Speaking ahead of EBACE, Dustin Dryden, Chief Executive Officer of Hangar8, said: "We are delighted to be exhibiting at EBACE next week and hope to speak to as many of our current and potential clients as possible. Hangar8 has gone from strength to strength since we were last at the show, posting strong financial results and significantly developing our heavy jet proposition, and we hope that this year's show will act as a springboard for further growth in the year ahead."

Hangar8 is the only aircraft management company listed on the London Stock Exchange. It offers aircraft management, charter, sales, leasing and engineering services. Hangar8 manages over 50 aircraft and has bases in Europe, West Africa and Asia.

Hangar8 will be located at Booth 1018 in Palexpo for the duration of EBACE 2014, which runs from 20-22 May in Geneva, Switzerland."

gswredland - see earlier posts: it was tipped by Simon Thompson of the IC in his online column on Monday. I suspect the additional buying today is because the print version of the IC is now out so those without an online subscription will be buying on the basis of his tip. Particularly with his immediate-term target of £2.75 and £3.00 within the next few months.

pm is sending a personal message to someone via advfn, which I've done as I know rivaldo well from many previous posts. As this is a quiet board I'll oblige you too goliard.
Do post it after a day or so as you wish rivaldo.

Brilliant, many thx penpont!

Perhaps I'll paste it here after a day or two when the IC's buyers have had a chance to act on it.

It certainly is a long article! Much more detailed than I'd assumed, and does concentrate on the core business.

It's only one recent director sale in the last two months (though the CEO did sell some last year) - which was the reduction of the CEO's extremely large 30%+ holding in the company and increased the very tight liquidity - compared to the same director buying back later at a much lower price and the non-exec topping up substantially.

I agree that the core of the recommendation should relate to the rosy prospects of the business - hopefully someone will be able to post it.

I don't know what Simon goes on to say, but as I see it directors have in the last two months sold two lots of 500K shares and bought lots of 50K and 80K shares. Hefty buying?!?
Long irrespective.

Cheers MT. He's following me round, what with ACM, NBU and IQE as well as HGR8. He ought to look at HVN and CRE too.

Here's the intro to his tip - 300p is a decent 3 month target after the year end trading statement in July, but I can see HGR8 going a lot higher than that over time:

"Ready to take-off

One of the key indicators I look for in selecting small cap shares is hefty buying by the insiders. The board of directors clearly have the inside track on current trading and if they are putting their own cash into their company, then it's generally a good sign that trading prospects are robust. Moreover, if this happens when the share price is testing its long-term trend line in a bull run, more often than not it indicates that the shrewd investors are calling a bottom to the correction phase and it's time to follow their lead. This is exactly what appears to be happening in shares of Aim-traded Hangar 8 (HGR8: 225p), one of the world's leading operators of privately owned jet aircraft."

No problem goliard.
HGR8 are unfortunately very lax at updating the investor part of their web site, it is well out of date.

Hopefully share price will go back up from here. HGR8 is making a very good profit for its market cap. and seems to be expanding further. Be interesting to see if we get another RNS for the other 325k of shares which were traded late Tuesday, whoever bought them might be over the notifiable threshold.
