Ken Maybe, maybe not. If we could forecast the future that would be marvellous. We can't so I am playing it cautiously. I sold out first thing this morning since after rereading I noticed the best scenario was way below what I had expected. I don't understand it. I thought Halfords would be in a fantastic market with Bikes sales going through the roof and car maintenance surely going to do better. Seems I misjudged it so glad to have got out.

ken, posters who suppose they know the future of markets with any degree of certainty
usually find out infallibility eludes them.

Would agree some prices look to have got ahead of themselves.

November US election. Fed will be fully supportive imo. 2021 may be interesting however.

Not really it's pretty obvious this federal assets global purchase is going pop just as American Q2 results come and Q3 tanks. This is 1929 all over again or worse.

Motoring will start to pick up now as staycation becomes more prominent and bike sales continue to perform well.Need another quarter to confirm they are still on track.Sell for now with opportunity to buy back in August when the markets crash again.

What a pos this company is, time to dump and stick in tech stocks across the pond. U.K. dividend stocks are toast because the hopless U.K. is toast as well.

You are right, i read the scenarios as a delta impact rather than absolute! Need more coffee.

Surprisingly the scenarios range from 10m loss to 20m profit.
20m profit would be pe of 17 so looks very stretched.
Isn't that best case of 10p EPS?
Anyway I am out. Maybe revisit later in the year.

Looked good on headlines but some real waffle underneath that needs digsting. Market initial reaction isn't a good one

After reading the outlook though and the scenarios envisaged it all looks dissapointing. I don't understand it, doesn't seem as good as I thought. I decided to sell out.

This should rerate fast, looks like minimum underlying eps of 20p for 2021 even in the modelled scenario A (worst case). For some reason i had a worst case analyst view of 9p! My target price here is £2.40

Yes fabulous. Despite all the disruption in the period involved. As things open up there should be a good year ahead don't you think.

Results!Oh my Goodness they beat profit expectations last year in a declining market!Going to close 10% of its business in certain retail locations makes sense!

I did read that Halfords have a lot of leases up for renewal in a couple of years, good news if they can agree on some lower rents, most probably a mixed bag update tomorrow but still think this is heading to 200p plus soon enough GLA

HFD reckoned that the PTP should come in at the top of the £50-£55m range. On that historical basis, the share price should be nearer 260p, but, of course, it's all about the future.

Seeing as how they've more or less dumped the divi for the time being, this could be ripe for a private equity take-over.

I know that sounds like a desperate wish for a dying stock, but that's not the case here.

Can't wait for the results and present trading.
