So compared to the retail sector the results are goid and we have xmas to trade into also yet.I see this momentumn to continue into the year and more gains to be made in the share price performance. In this worsening climate they seem well braced to face the current economic headwinds.

Halfords sales up due to 'staycations'

Halfords has reported a 2.7% increase in like-for-like revenue for the 20-week-period to 18 August 2017, due to consumers choosing to have "staycation" summers, rather than go abroad.

The bike and car accessories retailer reported growth in sales of camping gear, roof boxes and cycle carriers.

As predicted, what a smashing update from Halfords this morning, bring on the rise :). Great company, good business model, solid divi, what's not to like 😃. It's still not too late to snap this on the cheap before it heads up to 375-400 levels soon!!

TU tomorrow will be good IMO, we had reasonably good summer and I am sure staycation was good for Halfords. I don't see any profit warnings on the horizon, as some folks have been referring to here. If North Korea stop messing around, share price will rise steadily from here on. This is a solid business with good divi. Let's see who is taking over from Jill tomorrow, if market likes the individual this could rise as much as 5-10% tomorrow. Fingers crossed :).

April May and June were good weather months.June was one of the hottest. There is a retail sector slowdown thats evident in the figures of our peers. They are struggling and failing to hold growth and well down on lfl's.Halfords will do well in this UK staycation and fix me up recessionary period we are in.At this price the fall from £3.80 sees most of the bad news priced in a todays price.Heres to a good results day tomorrow! My guess is we announce a new ceo too imo.

Nice performance today I.e 3% up at close of business. At this rate we will easily see 350 by the upcoming trading update on 5th Sept and off the back of the positive TU (which is widely expected by the analysts, we could see 390-400 over the next few weeks. Go on HFD!!
