I agree that NAS listing would really power the SPGVC is global but US will be an increasing share of profitsThey are going for it big style

Or gvc should consider listing on the nasdaq and leaving the
UK, as it is blatantly obvious the UK do not want technology
companies. With IDS and co now having a further say it does
not make sense for them to cowardly keep laying into the sector.

On the subject of spin-offs:

(Bloomberg) --Caesars could see “transformational value creation” of about $38 per share from a CZR/William Hill USA interactive partnership spinoff, Roth Capital analyst David Bain wrote. Shares rose as much as 5.1%.
Bain said industry sources indicate that “ownership structure/splits are in advanced stages” with an eye for a spinoff before year end, which would be “well-ahead of investor expectations”
CZR currently owns 20% of William Hill USA; the analyst believes CZR and William Hill have been negotiating toward a 50/50 ownership of an entity which includes William Hill USA, with a plan to then “create an independent company through the sale or distribution of new shares of the business in the public equity markets”
Timeline risks include delays in talks and overall market conditions, but a 1Q 2021 spin date would still be “well-ahead of investor expectations and draws a transformational catalyst into sight”
Bain rates CZR shares buy, PT Street-high $75

Much likely MGM buys GVC or vice versa.

Every week our US market share is increasing.

In 8 years time we can expect a mature US market and MGM and GVC are going to be worth a lot more money than Today.

Enjoy the ride.

Don't see a spin off here - they will be pretty happy with performance in the US these past few weeks. After a false start last year they are definitely shaping up this time around.

Yes good post, that is why the sooner we spin off the US

Badger888 - Probably due to government stepping in to take control of the review of the Gambling Act and complaints from the Lords. Would have thought the City was aware of this though as the review itself is not new news. Should have been baked into any price and am sure the US market will help in the long run. Expecting good Q3 results since the major hit was in Q2 and footie season extended.

Was it a really bad weekend for results or just the general market decline?

News of an activist investor should benefit the whole sector.

A US activist investor has wagered £115million on a stake in William Hill, fuelling speculation that it could push for a sale of the British bookmaker.

HG Vora Capital Management, a New York hedge fund founded by Parag Vora, has built a 5.1 per cent stake in the FTSE250 company.

The swoop stoked speculation that HG Vora could push for a sale of William Hill, having done the same at other US casino groups.

In 2018, HG Vora took a 5 per cent stake in Caesars Entertainment, the casino group behind Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, and pushed for the company to explore options including a sale. Less than a year later, it was sold to Eldorado Resorts for £13.6billion.

The enlarged company – renamed Caesars Entertainment – is William Hill's US partner.

News of the stake emerged on the day it was revealed that William Hill's sports betting apps and odds would feature on US cable giant ESPN after it struck a deal with Caesars.

HG Vora previously invested in both Penn National Gaming and Pinnacle Entertainment before they agreed to merge.

UK gambling firms have sought to cash in on a gold rush in the US after it began to legalise sports betting in 2018. So far nearly 20 states have given it the green light.

HG Vora has a 10 per cent stake in Gamesys, the UK-listed owner of Jackpotjoy and other online gambling brands.

HG Vora did not respond to requests for comment.

Nonsense comment on linked in about Gala Group paying out many winnings of 10k plus. Some little oik who spends his time in the bedroom trying to find loopholes to bump his activity managed to hear about a minor bonus glitch which was probably caught as soon as it went out and since mitigated within Gala Bingo's bonusing systems. a non-event in the scheme of things I am sure it happens to all at some point...
