18/10/2018 07:52 | Good spot Noujay. Had to go back and reread that amongst all the positive numbers. Generally taxes are only raised by a small percentage at a time, so fingers crossed its not catastrophic. Any thoughts on what the financial implications might be? | hubshank
18/10/2018 07:46 | "28 percent jump in online net gaming revenue in the third quarter"Looks good to me. | jubblies
18/10/2018 07:44 | Although the performance is excellent (as expected) the forthcoming budget comment on remote gaming tax and the enacting of the legislation before the end of this year offer uncertainties with significant potential implications | noujay
18/10/2018 07:42 | There isn't anything bad in there that I can see. Will the markets give us an early Xmas present with a good rise? hope so! | hubshank
18/10/2018 07:42 | NGR up 10% , bookings taken through websites Ladbrokes.com up 23% , Coral.co.uk up 29% and Eurobet.it up 21% It is about going digital , hence in USA Android app has launched and IOS app have been developed and full marketing will start soon . Digital is the name of the game. | t 34
18/10/2018 07:40 | I was, rather optimistically, hoping we might have returned to the annoucement of a special dividend as in times past. Maybe too much to hope for now we are Footsie company. Seems that we are firing on all cylinders apart from UK retail, which is no surprise. Quite a contrast to the last set of numbers from PPB. | mylands
18/10/2018 07:26 | Surprisingly no comment here on Q3 results which look excellent on first look.On track to meet full year expectations | nurdin

17/10/2018 15:50 | This is almost as exciting as Christmas Eve... | hubshank
17/10/2018 13:16 | Thats me scorned! :-D | hubshank
17/10/2018 13:05 | Is there a more utterly pointless exercise than delving through trades? For anything of any significant size you have no idea whether it was a buy or a sell. In any event - for any trades, even retail traders like me - buys can occur at the bid price and sells at the offer and all points in between. Furthermore, you have no idea what is coming down the pike next. | woodhawk
17/10/2018 12:24 | actually on looking, nearly 700k were UT's. Not sure how the SETS trades are timed - could this have influence on the afternoon rise? | hubshank
17/10/2018 12:17 | Yes mylands I have noticed that, also when reading the end of day trades, a huge amount seems to go through after hours, I believe significantly altering the amount traded throughout the day. I have not kept a record of this, so cannot argue my case fully, but last night a large number of buys came through and the day before it was a huge number of sells. I work on the basis that it will all even itself out, the algorythms have to do their thing and that with time it will climb. Im now off to see if I cannot find last nights after hours trade information. | hubshank
17/10/2018 08:11 | Have others noticed how for the last few days the share price is marked down at the opening and then starts to claw its way back up. | mylands
16/10/2018 19:07 | Today's Telegraph, GVC gets a mention.Paddy Power's US bet starts to pay outInvestors upped their bets on Paddy Power Betfair after early figures indicated that New Jersey's newly-liberalised sports betting market is booming.British bookies are hoping to hit the jackpot in a huge new market emerging across the Atlantic after New Jersey won a landmark Supreme Court case in May.Its decision to overturn a ban on sports betting paves the way for other US states to open up their own markets.New figures from New Jersey have revealed that $184m (£140m) was wagered on sports bets last month after a flurry of online betting and the start of the new American Football season. Revenue more than doubled from $9.2m to $24m in a month, an early glimpse of the potential of the nascent market. However, Peel Hunt's Ivor Jones warned investors that "there is a long way to go before market size and the market leaders will be established".Paddy Power has attempted to gain a foothold in America's sports betting market by snapping up fantasy sports website FanDuel. It led the sector higher amid signs of American punters piling into the new market. Paddy Power rallied 275p, or 4.6pc, to £62.90, lifting it away from a three-year low, while GVC and Willia | coxsmn
16/10/2018 19:02 | where did you find that stat fenners? its a very useful source! | hubshank
16/10/2018 15:37 | Down day but online sports betting doubled in Sept in New Jersey to $184m Massive growth so expect some catch up eventually | fenners66

15/10/2018 09:44 | Another blue day ahead of Thursday's trading update. Maybe some good news going to be announced? | mylands
13/10/2018 11:40 | Indeed, backing quality management matters. The ambition and audacity at times that GVC has shown is breath taking.888 should have learnt - now look at them | trentendboy
13/10/2018 10:48 | What makes the difference between a good well run company and a badly run company - people. KMart in the US was huge when Wal Mart came a long and now KMart is all but gone and Wal Mart is huge...why because of the people who run these companies, in the same way GVC is doing so well, becasue of the people at the top who are running GVC. | loganair
12/10/2018 20:24 | Thanks Fizzy - you're right about profits. I topped-sliced my GVC earlier - 6% in a couple of days is fine by me. Already reinvesting. SCPA is another one that I've done very well with. Could turn out to be another HGM for me (though no real divi backup) - but rather hair-raisingly volatile! | woodhawk |
