coxsmn,

I've traded GVC so often I can't calculate accurately if I would have been better off holding or trading over the past 3-4 years? Most of my calls have pretty good, although I lost the plot a few months ago (which is why I took all my profits and sold up), nevertheless my instinct tells me that I'm better off trading - and I enjoy it - so I'll stick to what I'm most comfortable with. With any other stock I can currently think of that I've been in, trading has easily outperformed holding (so far). So, each to his own! GVC and HGM have probably been my most profitable trading stocks over time.

Wood, time and time again ive said on this board, the three rules of gvc are 'don't sell, don't sell, don't sell'. I'm convinced, there is no better stock than gvc, so why bother'. We have the best people, best technology and done the best deals. I'm very excited with the opening up of the US online sports betting, its a huge opportunity for the gvc mgm partnership.

It's not much below the average divi % for the FTSE 100 now. Prob best buying opportunity since late 2016-Jan 2017 fall, as I've said recently.

too bad for those who panic-sold their GVC shares. I take the Warren Buffet approach to GVC - buy and then hold forever ! It used to be a bumper dividend-payer though, wonder if we will ever get back to having GVC as a decent income play ?

The joy of GVC is that historically they have always arrived at their target price very quickly!

Berenberg today reaffirms its buy investment rating on GVC Holdings and cut its price target to 1350p (from 1400p).

Just listening to the Q&A, talking about how big the US market is going to be in 5 years time and " we'll have 50 percent of it" ....An off the cuff reply referring to the 50/50 split of any profit made by the MGM/GVC joint venture surely?

Wall Street looked painfull. I wasn' too sure what to expect to day, but it did make me wonder about all those after hours sales that went through. Sometimes it would be nice to be better informed.

Wall Street hasn't helped the cause, with another 2% fall in the share price

Huge number of after hours "sells" gone through. I hope they are from earlier on in the day and just tyding up their books!

Yes, you are correct Mylands. So there is still plenty of time for the dividend to be worth even more shares!

Poper Joe

Not next week, the week after, October 25th for the div payment.

The 2017 LTIP, as far as can ascertain is measured on the performance of the shares, so a fall of 25% is not going to do any good at all.

Many of us will be buying more next week when the dividend comes through and automatic re-investment occurs. Should get a few more shares than had been anticipated when the divi was announced. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Had to buy more - price too low given potential and US tie ups

could easily get back to 1000 without breaking sweat
