04/4/2018 12:57 | Fest No problem with 'salt being rubbed in to my wound' as they say by Woody. It's the 1200p that Barclays and others are talking about that interests me, not the possibility of this falling to 800p when even at that level my profit would still be SUBSTANTIAL! | mylands
04/4/2018 12:52 | I know you did.... but wasn't that settled many weeks ago?Pointless mentioning it continually. | festario
04/4/2018 12:48 | I had a 'bet' with mylands that the share price would be under 900p before over 1000p - so far it has been under at least 3 times. Currently I have no position in GVC. I might be tempted significantly closer to 800p. | woodhawk
04/4/2018 12:38 | Thought you were long Woody, what's your point? | festario
04/4/2018 12:33 | How many times is that back below 900p now, mylands? I've lost count. | woodhawk
04/4/2018 12:18 | Fest Fret not. The market is down 10% from its high at the beginning of January. GVC is down 9% from its high, so nothing out of line there. We have the 1st Qtr trading up date sometime this month which will give us a better idea of where we are going in 2018. | mylands
04/4/2018 11:59 | Bloody hell, if this gets much lower I'll not be able to resist piling back in. | festario
04/4/2018 09:55 | coppertrader I thought the same when I saw the percentage late yesterday, then it occured to me that with the doubling of shares in issue, the percentage will roughly halve. That is on the basis the shorters didn't hold significant short positions in Ladbrokes prior to the takeover being finalised. Just checked the short holdings on shorttracker.co.uk and it is clear that the reduction from over 15% down to 8% is due to the doubling of shares in issue. Most of the holdings are halving between March 26th and March 29th. One noticeable exception is Carlson Capital who went from 1.78% on March 21st to zero on March 28th. So looks like they closed out, or at least reduced to below 0.5%, the lower limit of declarable positions on shorttracker. | mylands
04/4/2018 09:18 | Discloaable shorts have closed from 15% to 8.69%. not much upward pressure though. | coppertrader
04/4/2018 08:58 | Good intel on the shorting of GVC. Not that I understand why these institutions consider its such a short, KA has a good track record re extracting synergies on deals and the US looks as if it will open up. Surely this is going to pop when the shorts have to close? | brownie69
04/4/2018 08:41 | S That lines up with my post, we shall see, dyor. active | srpactive
04/4/2018 08:34 | Unknown GVC is not uninvestable, says Barclays - Regulation may be a storm cloud for online gambling company GVC Holdings (GVC) but Barclays says it does not make the company ‘uninvestable& Analyst Patrick Coffey retained his ‘overweight&rs ‘GVC is a unique collection of assets in a structurally growing industry,’ he said. ‘Having just acquired Ladbrokes Coral, over the next three years we think there is…upside to estimates driven by synergies…re- While he noted that ‘regulation risk hovers over the sector like a persistent storm cloud posed to strike unexpectedly’, that ‘does not make GVC uninvestable’. | speedsgh
04/4/2018 08:16 | EZJ ( I held ) entered the ftse100 for the first time in March 2013, observe the chart before and after, the next reshuffle, valuation should be end May, for June, dyor a must. Ignore this post. active | srpactive
04/4/2018 07:53 | Woodhawk - or you badly need to switch... | club sandwich
03/4/2018 23:34 | The Halifax Sharedealing site is pretty dire - it has barely changed in the 20 years I have been using it. Increasingly often I am unable to deal at the price quoted even for relatively small quantities of shares (the only option then being "at best" thru the dealer), the price per trade is more than twice what I pay IG Index, and the online tools and facilities are poor or rudimentary. It badly needs updating. | woodhawk
03/4/2018 23:00 | I do not know why anybody uses Halifax. When ever I've gone into my local branch they can never answer my questions, can never give me a good reason why I should bank with them and I look at them as the Sun News paper or even maybe the Daily Sport of banking. At least the Daily Sport news paper had the decency to go into administration and thereby cease publication in 2011. | loganair
03/4/2018 22:37 | For each LCL...1/3 of the 32.7p if elected for all shares ie. 10.9p towards a GVC share @873p each. Also, strange thing Halifax are doing today making LCL visible in account. It could have been down to all the complaints of money missing as they made LCL invisible to clients to stop them from trading them. | tyroneshares
03/4/2018 19:53 | Is that a third of the total or third of the additional elected shares? | noujay
03/4/2018 18:05 | If the LCL investors had wanted to cash in they should have gone for more cash in the Mix & Match; would have allowed those of us opting for more shares to get more than the third we're getting. | johnabuchanan
03/4/2018 17:24 | Got my new GVC shares today. I imagine there will be some weakness as there likely to be an overhang of ex-LCL investors who don't want GVC paper and want to cash in. w1 | woozle1
03/4/2018 17:10 | Yes likewise, when will they actually convert for trading I wonder..anyone? | noujay
03/4/2018 16:16 | Halifax have now restored my old lcl shares | smithp1
03/4/2018 14:00 | hopefully all done in my iii account. | trentendboy
03/4/2018 11:47 | Also, as I said before, Computershare have already done the conversion. | tyroneshares
03/4/2018 11:43 | 1 LCL default offer = 0.141 GVC (@873p) + 32.7p + CVR. | tyroneshares |
