Why has the share price lost momentum - being down 3.49% in a month ?? If no one can give me a sensible answer I quit. There is always somewhere else to put it.....

Constructors are in the very worst position. No one needs a new drill ship for a decade, no one needs a new bog standard support vessel for 25 years. So for example Lamprell, very doubtful future. Maintenance providers on the other hand have a workload correlated with the volume of oil produced, not the price of oil. Low oil prices reduce oil company spending in the short term. SESVs play in that ongoing support market, and in offshore wind, and in platform decommissioning.

My concern would be if the builders start speculative building. However equity and debt are taking sufficient hits that it should make anyone involved, Norwegian vessel owners, Singaporian, Korean, German banks, have such burnt fingers that even they stop and think.

EZRA/EMAS in major financial problems, looks as if they could go to the wall.

Also oil majors expanding their spend, with GMS likely to benefit. Nav here still about £1, so plenty of upside

Any decent contract news and we are off to 75p. Long term if POO stays steady the £1.00 seems reasonable.VGLTA

More mergers:
Farstad, Solstad, & Deep Sea Supply. Three of Norway’s biggest offshore oil industry service vessel (OSV) operators announced plans to merge to create one of the biggest fleets in the sector.

Looks like the greater public are being advised of the fairly rosey outlook that GMS seems to have with the POO rising.Let's see how the market react and if the divi is maintained. I am hopeful so let the dice roll. ?

hpcg,
following on from your post on Numis, they have significantly raised numbers from yesterday:

EPS for 2016 they have at 11.11p, for 2017 they have 8.47p EPS. That is a significant rise from previous forecasts which I had seen as around 3.5p for 2017.

To me, these are looking good value, surely 80-100p is a target over 12 months with an assumption that longer term business margins rise and we get closer to 150p.
