I think we will get more than that. A compromise has been reached in my view.

Re the KRG Contracts, I know Baghdad has seen, read and understood everything that has been placed in front of them.

The question is, has everything re these contracts been put in front of them?

I don't believe so.

Bigdog - "How many times has Baghdad now asked Erbil to send the contracts to SOMO!!!"

Bigdog - "I keep telling you whatever gets announced out there cannot be trusted. Something you idiots have never learnt."

Well WE'VE learnt it Sarah but being the board idiot YOU certainly haven't.

For the last 2 years you've wittered on about Baghdad deeming the contracts illegal, now you'd have us believe that they haven't even seen them.

How long has it been that the Iraqi government have been saying that the contracts need amending, how do they know they need amending if they haven't seen them.

God you're gullible.

Myles Caggins 2 days ago - "We have provided everything necessary to conclude a new agreement, and we want to keep our agreements in place, even if they come under the control of the federal government."

Thanks beernut1 Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - Iraq's ambassador to Ankara, Majid Al-Lajmawi, said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Baghdad "will witness the signing of a strategic agreement in various fields."Al-Lajmawi confirmed that Erdogan's visit to Baghdad "will contribute to resolving the outstanding issues between the two neighboring countries," according to what was reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).Considering, at the same time, that the visit "will achieve a comprehensive qualitative leap in cooperation relations between Iraq and Turkey."According to Al-Lajmawi, the visit will also witness "the signing of a strategic framework agreement within the security, economic, and development fields, and progress in the water and energy files, and the process of resuming the export of Iraqi oil through Turkey."The Iraqi ambassador explained that Erdogan's visit "comes within the framework of the two countries' efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between them, especially in light of the presence of many projects and memorandums of understanding that may be concluded between the two countries, most notably the development path and Turkey's role in this vital strategic project."Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler announced that Erdogan will make an official visit to Iraq next Monday, and Baghdad and Ankara are scheduled to sign a strategic agreement on the sidelines of the visit.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had previously confirmed that the water issue would be one of the most important items on his agenda during his visit to Iraq, while he hinted at visiting Erbil after Baghdad.Erdogan indicated that Turkey is studying requests submitted by the Iraqi side regarding water, stressing that they will seek to solve this problem with them.

PS:- If you know where all Licencing Rounds 5+ & 6 blocks are (as I do) you will know that major new territory is opening up in Iraq.

Including the fabled Western Desert to the West of Karbala.

Saddam Hussein in his prime, had a garrison stationed there in the middle of the desert & wilderness who fought like lions to defend it for a reason.

It has always been rumoured to have multi billion barrel oil deposits & absolutely enormous gas deposits in the Mesozoic & Paleozoic.

If you remember, these licencing rounds were deliberately postponed in February 2024, because of issues with Kurdistan IOC contracts not being resolved & the possible ramifications on new Iraq Licencing Rounds 5 (Oil Blocks) & 6 (Gas Blocks).

IMHO:- Given that licencing winning bids are now being opened more quickly suggests Kurdistan; APIKUR & the Kurdistan IOCs are now about to get a positive result.
