20/9/2022 08:50 | New UK PM reiterates commitments to Iraq, Kurdistan Region: Truss reminded the Kurdish president that her first meeting as a foreign secretary was with Barzani back in September last year, Tahir said. The newly inaugurated United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss reiterated her country’s commitments to both Iraq and Kurdistan Region during her talks with President Nechirvan Barzani at the royal reception hosted by King Charles III in London on Sunday, a Kurdish diplomat said. Barzani was invited by the UK to attend the State Funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was laid to rest in Windsor Castle on Sunday following a long formal procession. A total of 500 dignitaries took part in the event. The British prime minister reiterated her government’s commitments “in all fields” to Iraq and Kurdistan Region in her talk with Barzani, Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Representative in the UK, told Kurdistan 24 on Monday. Truss reminded the Kurdish president that her first meeting as a foreign secretary was with Barzani back in September last year, Tahir said. The new premier used to serve as the secretary of foreign affairs in former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s cabinet. She was announced as the head of the Conservative Party and a premier in early September. In September 2021, Barzani visited London, where he met with the country’s top leaders, including Johnson. Tahir described Barzani’s participation in the late monarch’s funeral as a “big event”. The Queen “was a true inspiration to many around the world,” Barzani said after he had signed the book of condolence in London on Monday. He extended his condolences to King Charles III during the royal reception as well. | nufc9

19/9/2022 08:06 | Well, my geology qualification says that all porous rock can be water saturated but the salient point here is that of an OWC. Oil/Water contact. This contact is prevented by the impervious layer of a dome or one of the other many trap features. So layers above the trap can be saturated with water and no harm done. | fardels bear

Their aim was to produce from the lower zone and hopefully add to the Reserves and consequently the share price But they got a surprise proving yet again they don't understand the field after 13 years. They came back up the well and found more water." So you keep saying Sarah. So they got a surprise did they, the Butmah was flooded because the water was hundreds of metres higher than expected was it, causing them to abandon the Butmah and move up to the SAM. So how did they successfully reach their target depth deep in the Butmah on 23rd August with "encouraging results" without drilling into any water. How did they spend the next 3 months testing completing and commissioning the well to it's full depth without seeing any water. How did they bring the well onstream in November in line with expectations at 4,600 bpd without seeing any water. How did they then produce that 4,600 bpd from the Butmah into the export pipeline for the next 10 months until their appraisal work was finished without any water handling equipment. Don't you think that if the oil was full of water somebody would have noticed. So where is the water Sarah. | habshan
19/9/2022 07:35 | Perhaps some experts on petroleum stratigraphy here could answer a naive question of mine. Water is denser than oil and so will generally migrate to below the oil if allowed to do so. However, a (classical) petroleum resource is formed when ancient oil-producing sediments are capped by a dome of impermeable rock. Thus it seems eminently possible that water may seep through younger porous, fractured, or water-soluble rock above such a cap, without being able to descend further, through the impermeable cap. Is this a rare or implausible occurrence? | meanreverter

18/9/2022 22:49 | What's the gist fantasists. Water was found hundreds of meters higher than expected at S12. Their aim was to produce from the lower zone and hopefully add to the Reserves and consequently the share price But they got a surprise proving yet again they don't understand the field after 13 years. They came back up the well and found more water. Spin and hype anything good, play down the not so good and say nowt about the real problems. Even the hosts have admitted that water is flooding into the fractures at several of the fields in Kurdistan. For 45b read way less than 3b was their headline. Do you honestly think that shaiCON isn't experiencing the same issue suckers? Jewel in the Crown, lol. Hasn't it all turned into another Ratners? Not going to respond to my questions to you h7?
