07/9/2022 21:24 | "All of the numbers are taken from the relevant Annual Results presentations, month for month." Well I'll tell you what to do Broadford. Why don't you drop them an e-mail and tell them that you're most discomposed that the numbers given in their Operational Updates don't exactly match up with the numbers given in their Presentations. I'm sure thar Jon Harris will be more than happy to drop everything and sort it out for you. And maybe you should add to your e-mail that you think he should be concerned about what the Russians are up to on Akri Bijeel and that 3 other IOCs are having problems on fields up to 100 miles away. I won't ask you to post up any reply because I'm not interested. And I can't imagine anyone else here is either. | habshan
07/9/2022 21:02 | Habscam, all of the numbers are taken from the relevant Annual Results presentations, month for month. They are absolutely correct. Example: Jan/Feb/Mar-2020 39.7, 38.0,37.3 gives Q1 = 38.333Mbopd Apr/May/Jun-2022 42.6, 44.7, 46.0 gives Q2 = 44.433Mbopd. Gives +16%. The Atrush operator also had his issues to deal with. | broadford bay

07/9/2022 19:39 | If your best mate said, I know a company whose market cap is 16 months of its EBITDA and the dividend yield is 38%. You’d doubtless say, “You’re having a laugh”. However, that’s what we have with GKP. Mkt cap of £493m converted at 1.15 equates to $567m; EBITDA for the first 6 mths is $208.6m; Dividends declared (so far) in 2022 equate to $215m OK, you would ask – will it continue next year. Well of course there are three key factors. Oil price; production volume and will the KRG pay on time. Naturally many are pleased that the oil price is on a downward trajectory. I think most agree that this has been caused by the continuing and even increasing city wide lock downs in China where Xi is hammering home his zero tolerance for covid; plus the general fear of a global recession markedly reducing the demand for oil. Well Goldman Sachs continues with its outlook of oil at $135/barrel in Q4 this year. One can argue the different points of view – but one thing is certain, Xi will have to declare victory over covid soon – possibly shortly after his inauguration in October, otherwise there is a good chance of riots in China, OK my view. Also plenty commentators consider demand destruction due to a recession is somewhat exaggerated. Anyhow, I am of the view we will see $100 oil once again – after all the US has to replenish its strategic oil reserves and Saudi Arabia likes oil around $100. As Habsham coherently details, GKP has steadily been increasing production volumes and the company is on a plan to continue with such production increases. The oil is there and the company has sufficient internal resources to fund the declared capex programme to get us to 50,000 barrels/day. The KRG has paid off arrears and has become a dependable payer of GKP’s invoices. On the basis that the oil price does not decline markedly from the current $88, I am comfortable the KRG can manage to meet its obligations to GKP. Of course we benefitted from the receipts of arrears during the year, but increased production should fairly well meet that “over payment” going forward. The crazy think with this share is that swings of 5% occur on a daily basis. Just incredible. Anyhow, I still think we could well be sold by Christmas 2022 – frankly, it couldn’t come too soon for me! | attyg

(Photo: KRG) Kurdistan Krg Barbara A Leaf Masrour Barzani US Iraq ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara A. Leaf told Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani that her country would intensify efforts to resolve the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, particularly in the oil and gas sector, according to a statement. Barzani received Leaf and her accompanying delegation on Wednesday in Erbil, where they discussed the relations between the Iraqi and Kurdish governments, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)'s ninth cabinet reform program as well as American investment, according to a statement from the premier’s office. If left unresolved, the lingering issues between the two governments, particularly in the energy sector, would have a negative impact on the stability and security of Iraq, Leaf warned, adding her country would intensify the efforts to resolve them, according to the government statement. She also said those issues should be resolved through dialogue, according to the statement. She also reiterated her country’s continued support for the Kurdistan Region and its Peshmerga forces. In return, Barzani said that the Kurdish people have sacrificed a lot for their legitimate rights and they would not give up on their constitutional rights under any pressure, the statement added. He also added Erbil is willing to resolve the outstanding issues based on the constitution. Speaking of diversifying the Kurdish economy and sources of revenue, Barzani briefed the delegation on his cabinet’s reforms in that regard. They also discussed climate change and its negative consequences on Iraq and its Kurdish region as well as relying on renewable energy. American investment and empowering the private sector were also highlighted. The delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani, and the Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani earlier Wednesday. | beernut
