The point you are missing is that the KRG (and possibly , tho unlikely , the ICG) have the final say in any sale. IF, as assumed by many , they have a substantial shareholding in GKP , and greed being the final arbitrator then I would suggest the outcome you suggest is most definitely wrong.

Then of course we have the potential of a legal challenge if shareholders feel hard done by. A fact any major potential buyer is well aware of.

No, we will get asset value with some sort of adjustment ..vis- ( probable reserve increase - risk factor)

Many here pin their hopes on a takeover once the current issues have passed but if the shareholdings of CJ above are up to date the two majority shareholders could
agree terms to gain BOD agreement so that the bonanza hoped for here might be frustrated and not reach the likes of us. This has happened to me several times and is always quite legitimate.

Structured as an amalgamation all that is required in Bermudan Law and GKP Bye Law 165 is that the KRG agree ( Might be Baghdad now) and a majority at a special shareholder meeting. A majority is in the hands of two shareholders and they could do a deal which might benefit them not us..

Naturally I would be happy for someone to prove the above wrong as I don`t like it either.

Well you're certainly entitled to your opinion Broadford, but not everyone agrees with it.

Qube closed their short a week or so ago.

Worldquant are reducing theirs.

And last week two Genel directors who have the inside line on the negotiations bought £2.6 million worth of shares.

So why do you think they are wrong and you are right.

APIKUR is but a summer leaf, now withering on the branch as Winter approaches; it has greatly overestimated its own power / relevance / importance.

Yes they can wait, but their cash reserves will deplete as their producing formations also deplete without further substantial investment. Local consumers / refineries are at the mercy of central directives and the prices they offer will fluctuate greatly.

To claim that the dispute with the Kurds is crippling Iraq is utter nonsense. Iraq limits output to help OPEC and, ignoring any Kurd contribution, has about 1.5MMbopd in reserve should the OPEC guidance limits be relaxed.

The Kurds have lost the argument and Bahgdad now rule the roost.
Get over it.

APIKUR is a long overdue good idea. They can now wait as long as is necessary for this
lot to see the obvious. As they will.

The ICG annual budget is already "ambitious " to put it mildly and they are now crippling it with this feud with the Kurds.

H7,Correct.Many things going on in the background which, imo, will ultimately change Kurdy Oil completely.PSCs,Operators,Compartmentation,JVs,Farmouts,M&A,T/Os are all on the table imo.
With local sales rising across the board and GKP still in good shape having 80% WI
in a GIANT FIELD which will not be given away cheaply, with FDP(cough cough)still to be revealed and Brent at $90+ and rising,it's definitely a Buy/Hold,never a sell.
GLA who are still holding.

I dont think any news outlet knows exactly what is going on and I dont think they will be told either. We are being fed what they want us to know NOT what is actually happening on the ground. PI's are the mushrooms as always. So you either believe the prospects or you dont. Hold or sell - its that simple.
