ccr1958: GKP recently said, via Mark Antelme, that shareholders should get their information from what the company is saying. So what is the GKP board currently saying? Chairman Jaap Huijskes: “We are pleased to welcome Kimberley to the Board of Gulf Keystone Petroleum. She is a highly respected legal practitioner who has been counselling Boards for the past two decades. We very much look forward to Kimberly's contribution, in particular in this exciting phase of investment and of markedly increasing production from Shaikan." CEO Jon Ferrier: “Once again, Shaikan has continued to perform well from an operational perspective, and in line with our strategic priority, this has been achieved whilst maintaining our strong safety track record. With a clear path to future growth, underpinned by a healthy balance sheet and an outstanding asset, we can look to the future with confidence.” Messrs. Huijskes and Ferrier: “We fully appreciate the continued support of all our stakeholders during what has been a very important period in the Company's history. Alongside our partner, MOL, and our hosts, the KRG and the MNR, we remain excited about the next 12 to 18 months, as we stand poised to realise Shaikan's full potential over the coming years”. Corporate Presentation: “Expansion to 55,000 bopd underway. Realising the potential of Shaikan with a phased, risk-managed approach”.

the real minotaur: Broadford Bay was perhaps a little hasty in posting about shipping requirements to use low-sulphur fuels. This is not some new issue at all. Many ships have already been fitted with exhaust gas scrubbers (EGCS – Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems) to reduce these emissions and save money on current fuel prices. Refineries can deal with the issue. And in any case, these changes are forecast to increase the oil price: “Bloomberg asked analysts to estimate the likely price effects of the regulatory change. Crude prices are forecast to rise by $4 a barrel in 2020 due to the IMO rules specifically, according to the median estimate of 13 responses that ranged from a $2 drop to a $20 increase per barrel. “Of our $90 a barrel Brent price forecast by early 2020, we’d argue that $5-$10 a barrel will come from IMO 2020,” said Morgan Stanley analyst Martijn Rats. The shift in demand to less-polluting oil products will mean that “without investing in more upgrading units, refiners will simply need to process more crude,” he said.” Hardly a negative? And as I already pointed out on here, the major producers of sour crude oil (high sulphur content) include: North America: Alberta (Canada), the United States' portion of the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and Mexico, South America: Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Syria, and Egypt. It seems to me that OPEC can simply reduce supply a little and thereby increase the oil price - if they so choose. The oil price is of course dependent upon supply. And oil demand continues to increase. China’s “Unipec” currently predicts that world oil demand will continue to grow until reaching a peak in 2035. Unipec is China International United Petroleum & Chemicals Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) and is China's largest international trade company with an enormous oil trading operation. So it looks as though Broadford Bay spotted an article which could be interpreted negatively and quoted from it without giving more background, and the baffling “Bigdog5”; (whoever she or he might be these days) picked up on it. All a non-issue imo. No long-term shareholder is going to sell their shares based upon such comments posted on here.

Well I think its clear to any with more than a dozen brain cells (which may rule out some of the headcases here) that negotiating a psc amendment doesn't take 2.5 years😁 Negotiating and delivering a sale of such complexity and size does HOLD BUY AS MANY MORE AS YOU CAN SOLD BEFORE🌲794;🎅ㇳ7; "OPTIMISE CAPITAL STRUCTURE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMPANY AND SHAREHOLDERS". Says GULF'S FINANCE DIRECTOR " What you doing with all the CASH ? " asked the ANALYST at Q and A post presentation several months ago. " I can't say "adding " You can probably guess" he SAID.. WE CAN GUESS!! It makes considerable sense for Gkp to be buying back. The market price is a huge discount to trade sale price. They have huge cash reserves CapEx going forward needs no capital - the bond market will supply any future CapEx supported by the huge free cash flow they have. So Use the excess cash - to secure and fund as many bought in shares as possible, bought in BUT AS CHEAPLY as possible! SINCE AROUND APRIL 2018 I THINK THEY HAVE BEEN BUYING BACK IN using an Accelerated Share Repurchase scheme widely employed by investment banks for this purpose. If they used cash on deposit that pile would decrease rapidly hence it would be impossible to hide this ongoing pursuit from the general market and the cost of share would rocket and make the process prohibitively expensive. "Repurchasing shares when a company's share price is undervalued benefits NON SELLING shareholders (frequently insiders) and extracts value from shareholders who sell. But you were the person alleging that people are now paying 289p for shares which were previously just 4p. Don’t you remember?

But anyone buying 250,000 shares at 4p would have seen them consolidated to 2,500. So shouldn't your math use that number. At that stage of the game with the restructure on its way I only had a few shares left and didn't want to subscribe for any allocation or buy any "excess". Good money after bad was my opinion. Thanks for your concern but my money will do far better elsewhere. We'll see how much progress the company makes in the coming months and how many risks and challenges turn up.

Indeed we're not all twisted rats who admit to taking payment for ramping a stock. Who lobby for Directors that feed false rumours in to the market and trade of the back of it through trusts they claim to have no interest in. We're not all snivelling little rats who'd sell their friends out for their own greed and ego And we're certainly not all snivelling little rats that think hounding, stalking and harassing investors and their families is in the slightest bit acceptable.
