If GKP is sold for $ 20 Bill then Wace's short bill is peanuts.

Bigdog5: if what you say were correct (which it isn’t, of course) you could have made even more money than in my example above. On your figures, you could have invested e.g. £10,000 at 4p per share, and been able to sell those shares today for 289p each. So that would be a profit of 285p per share. So your profit from your purchase of 250,000 shares would be: 250,000 x £2.85 = £712,500 So on that basis you would have turned your back on a profit of over seven hundred thousand pounds. For an investment of just ten grand.

Bigdog5: what you say is incorrect. The value of GKP at the time of the Restructuring is measured by the Enterprise Value, which is Market Capitalisation + Debt - Cash So the EV was the Market Cap (say, $75 million) + $575 million + unpaid interest - a bit of cash So the EV was around $650 million The current EV is about $850 million + $100 million - $250 million = $700 million So the Enterprise Value is essentially unchanged. Despite the partial recovery in the oil price and the continuation of regular monthly payments from the MNR. What we observe is a highly-complex restructuring involving equity, Notes and Convertible Bonds. And what you say about people now paying £2.90 for shares that they could have bought for 4p is hopelessly wrong, because of the effects of the Consolidation, the Rights and the Open Offer. You could have put, say, £10,000 into GKP shortly after the Restructuring and made yourself £25,000 profit. Instead of spending your time on here. And DNO effectively underwrote any such investment with their - rather odd, if you ask me - offer(s). In my personal opinion, the EV is way too low for the GKP assets, not least with Brent at $80 a barrel. That upside potentially converts directly into the share price. Peel Hunt have a target of 356p. Marshall Wace opened a short and then almost immediately started closing it. btw regardless of what you or Broadford Bay post on here, I can’t see any long-term holders selling.

Happy to be here until the end. I had a discussion with a 'city mole' and it looks like my target is now £100+ per share here.

How do you do this without telling the market and the share price rocketing which defeats the object? You use an Investment bank to perform a buyback on the lines of "Accelerated Share Repurchase) plan (Google it) ANONYMOUSLY. butchersboy, if true that does appear to be disingenuous and narcissistic. On another matter isn't something massively wrong when the following is considered. Current Market Cap with 229m shares £655m. Pre restructure (something I was totally correct about) the Market Cap with around 825m shares was £33m. Since the restructure production has fallen massively and hasn't been corrected. No new oil has been discovered. No Reserves have increased. The only difference is there is now only $100m of debt and POO has recovered. But as we've seen from OPEC (no less) heavy oil will soon have much less value. So, investors that wouldn't buy at 4p are now happy to shell out £2.90 for the same amount of barrels!!! Totally absurd imo.
